Ophthalmology was founded in 1998. It is the first provincial eye hospital in Zhejiang Province, the clinical part of Optometry Research Center of Ministry of Health, the key research laboratory of Zhejiang Province and the discipline of colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province.

Is a state-owned public welfare medical institution, located in Wenzhou, the southeast coastal city of China. It has a headquarters in Wenzhou and two campuses in Hangzhou. It is the only medical unit in China that has obtained the national key clinical specialty of ophthalmology and the excellent key laboratory of the Ministry of Health, and it is also the only third-class first-class ophthalmic hospital in Zhejiang Province.
