Three-dimensional measuring instrument, as its name implies, has one more dimension than two-dimensional measurement, and can measure three-dimensional size parameters.

Most of the three-dimensional machine structures use precision granite as a platform, and better machines will use granite above grade 00. Most triaxial structures are made of granite, some models are made of aluminum alloy or cast iron, and higher-level models are made of carbon fiber, ceramics or other composite materials.
