What is California Bill 65?
California Proposal No.65, namely "Drinking Water Safety and Toxic Substances Enforcement Act 1986", was promulgated in June19861.

Its purpose is to protect the drinking water sources of California residents and states, so that the water sources do not contain substances that are known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive and developmental hazards, and truthfully inform residents when such substances appear. California Proposition 65 is responsible for regulating chemicals that California knows may cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.

Core requirements of the proposal: 1. It is not allowed to discharge the harmful substances listed in the proposal into drinking water. 2. Provide clear and reasonable warnings (for listed substances, warnings must be given unless the exposure content is extremely low and will not cause risks).
