How to understand household gas meter
The way to understand domestic gas meters is to read the first five digits.

The gas meter consists of eight digits, and the last three digits (white words on a red background) are decimal areas, so you don't need to look at them. The first five numbers (white words on a black background) are the areas we want to read. If the gas meter shows the number 377004, the correct reading of the gas meter is 377 cubic meters, ignoring the following 004.

The maximum hourly flow of gas meters is greater than the maximum hourly gas consumption of all gas equipment in the home. For example, a 13 liter water heater consumes 2.45 cubic meters of gas per hour, and a 4.2 kilowatt gas stove consumes 0.42 cubic meters of gas per hour. When they are used at the same time, the maximum gas consumption is 2.87 cubic meters per hour, and a G2.5 gas meter is required.

Matters needing attention in using gas meter

First, notify the gas company in time when encountering problems.

When there is air leakage or other abnormal phenomena in your gas meter, you must inform the gas company at the first time, and don't handle it yourself to avoid danger. Professional things are left to professional people, and gas companies will send professionals to check and repair them, so as to ensure safety and avoid greater losses caused by improper handling.

Second, do not modify the gas pipeline and gas meter.

During the use of the gas meter, do not attempt to modify the gas pipeline and move the gas meter, and it is not allowed to disassemble or modify the gas meter without permission. If such operations are carried out without permission, the gas company will consider it illegal and impose a fine. This is to ensure the safe use of gas and avoid accidents caused by improper operation.
