Bashan is from Zhongxian County, Chongqing. Don't be a shepherd boy, don't be a woodcutter. He has been an actor, a stage artist and a screenwriter, and has published and staged many plays. He has published monographs such as Ba Man Zi, Soul of Ba State, Bashan Opera Collection, Ink and Wash Spring and Autumn Annals, Memories of Three Gorges, Bashan Painting Collection and Bashan Poetry and Painting Collection. Member of Shandong Branch of China Artists Association, member of China Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, painter of Qilu Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, member of Huaxia Culture Promotion Association, honorary president of China North Painting Academy, member of China Poetry Society and China Couplet Society, senior artist, member of Liaocheng CPPCC Standing Committee and Jiu San Society. Since 1996, he has been invited to hold painting and calligraphy exhibitions in many mainland cities, as well as in Taipei, Japan, Southeast Asia, the United States and the Russian Lie Bin Art Museum. His paintings and calligraphy works are collected by many museums and collectors at home and abroad.

Yang Huiming, a famous scholar, commented on Bashan in this way: There are many painters and millions of arty people in China art world today. However, there are very few poems, paintings and calligraphy. Bashan has been grazing in the valley and strange mountain firewood since childhood, and gained the aura of Bashan Shushui. Later, he lived in Shandong, paid homage to Confucius, and boarded Daiyue, with a broad mind. His works are a little more profound in Qilu culture and magnificent in northern landscape, so his works are unique. Bashan's handsome, bold, simple, passionate and heroic personality is precisely the innate gene of Bashan's poetry and calligraphy works.

Guan Bashan's works are bold and unrestrained, which seems to have the wind of poetry and immortals. He has read many poems, and his talent is remarkable. Bashan calligraphy, which has been fascinated by Dan Qing's skill for decades, is vigorous and powerful, with extraordinary momentum, both rigid and flexible, pleasing to the eye and refreshing. Moreover, the poems and couplets he wrote are all original and even more valuable. In the past, Cao Zhi wrote a seven-step poem, and Bashan often wrote one. Stories of past dynasties are handed down at will, and you can use whatever you want, and beauty is beautiful. Mount Tai, Mount Heng, Yellow Crane Tower and many other scenic spots have invited Bashan to write couplets. His improvised long poems, such as Deng Sima Tai, Deng Taibai Lou, Deng Langjie Tai Fu, and Dai Dai, have become masterpieces of local scenic spots.

Bashan's paintings and calligraphy, or splashing ink on mountains and rivers, or poetic literati, or handy flower-and-bird sketches, or impromptu poetry couplets, not only concentrate and admire the natural beauty of heaven and earth, but also have profound philosophical thinking, praise justice and kindness, pity people's livelihood, ridicule decay and ugliness, and carry forward the value of civilization.
