Shanghai Public Security College is the only full-time public security college in Shanghai that trains public security talents, and it is also the only public security college in China that has been designated as the project construction unit of national demonstration higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. The school was established on June 2nd, 1949, and was established at the same time with the Public Security Bureau of Shanghai Municipal People's Government. In the past 60 years, the school has trained more than 34,000 graduates for Shanghai and even the whole country, and trained nearly 300,000 on-the-job police officers. Known as "the cradle of the police and the melting pot of police officers", all the grassroots cadres and business backbones in the Shanghai public security team are trained by this school. The school mainly undertakes full-time second college (undergraduate) education, Xinmin police initial training, public security leading cadre training, police professional training and all kinds of professional training for domestic and foreign police entrusted by the Ministry of Public Security. 1 The school covers an area of 7 13 mu, with a building area of120,000 square meters. It is divided into two campuses, Pudong and Xinzhuang. In June 2007, 5438+065438+ 10, with the strong support of the municipal government and the municipal bureau, the new Pudong campus with an investment of more than 600 million yuan and a new land acquisition of more than 270 mu was completed and put into use. A modern public security college surrounded by Binjiang Forest Park stands on the coast of the East China Sea and the banks of the Pujiang River, and the hardware conditions of the school have reached a higher level, laying a solid foundation for building a first-class public security college.
