1. Is Shanghai Agriculture and Forestry Vocational and Technical College public or private? Shanghai Vocational and Technical College of Agriculture and Forestry is a public university sponsored by Shanghai Education Commission. It is the only vocational and technical college in Shanghai that features modern urban agriculture. It is the first batch of 100 modern apprenticeship pilot units in Shanghai's characteristic vocational colleges and the Ministry of Education. The college won the fourth national civilized unit.

In 2002, Shanghai Vocational and Technical College of Agriculture and Forestry was founded on the basis of Shanghai Agricultural School, and its running history can be traced back to 1947. The college carries forward the motto of "respecting agriculture, being happy with agriculture and being endless" and the spirit of campus culture, adheres to the school-running purpose of "serving agriculture and establishing characteristic schools", and has trained a large number of management and technical talents for Shanghai agriculture. 70% of the management and technical personnel in Shanghai agricultural front are graduates of our school. There are more than 300 faculty members, including more than 40 junior high school titles and more than 4,000 full-time students. The college has Songjiang main campus, Pudong Lingang campus, Songjiang Maogang training base and Fengxian Bay training base, covering an area of 1448 mu.

The college's agricultural specialty system is sound, covering agricultural specialties such as agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, which basically meets the needs of modern urban agriculture in Shanghai. At present, there are six departments and two departments: Plant Science and Technology Department, Landscape Architecture Technology Department, Animal Science and Technology Department, Agricultural Biology and Ecology Technology Department, Agricultural Economic Management Department, Agricultural Information Engineering Department, Basic Department and Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research Department. Major 19, forming six major agricultural professional groups, including horticulture technology, landscape technology, animal medicine, biotechnology and its application, agricultural economic management and agricultural information technology. The proportion of agricultural students is over 80%. Landscape architecture is the key specialty of the State Forestry Administration, and animal medicine is the key specialty supported by the central government. It is the first-class construction specialty of higher vocational education in Shanghai.

The College actively explores innovative talent training mode, and has established stable cooperative relations with schools, enterprises, scientific research institutes and governments with leading agricultural enterprises such as Guangming Food Group and Real Estate Garden, as well as Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Chongming District Agricultural Committee. There are more than 20 modern apprenticeship classes and school-enterprise cooperation classes in cooperation with agriculture-related enterprises. The College has established stable and good cooperative relations with Danish, Israeli, French, Hungarian, China, Taiwan Province and other relevant agricultural universities and training institutions, and sends 100 students and teachers abroad for training every year.

Every year, the college teams up to represent Shanghai in the agricultural project competition of the National Vocational Skills Competition, and has won many first prizes in agricultural product quality and safety inspection, agricultural machinery maintenance, Newcastle disease antibody level determination, artistic flower arrangement and other projects. The college attaches great importance to the docking industry, pays equal attention to both pre-employment and post-employment, and actively participates in the training and cultivation of new professional farmers. Every year, nearly 10,000 new professional farmers and agricultural skill appraisers are trained, and more than 7,000 rural laborers are trained and appraised.
