What does each color stand for?
white

Traditionally, white represents innocence and chastity. White clothes or white flowers most often appear on cards, such as female pope, strength and temperance. They usually wear white robes to represent their innocence. White represents the source of all things, and it is also a "unity" because white light contains all colors. In Kabbalah's tree of life system, white is the highest sphere, and everything has been created since then.

In addition, in the Robin Wood Tarot card, the token card is inlaid with a white crystal, which symbolizes clear thinking and decision. White or silver also symbolizes the light of the moon, or women (yellow and gold are usually symbols of men or the sun). White also means purification and regeneration, especially the white rose in the death card, which symbolizes that the heart will change or regenerate after a dark situation.

White will also be discussed with red and black, and its symbolic meaning is different from that of white alone, as follows:

White and black.

The combination of white and black has a special significance in the western system, and the academic school thinks it has a lot to do with Ryder Vittaro. The black and white pillar behind the queen is also common in many other tarot cards. The black column symbolizes "negative" and "passive" (acceptance), while the white column symbolizes "positive" and "creation" (emission) (which is also the meaning in the tree of life). Here, they represent an absolute thing and a prototype. The Pope sits between two pillars, symbolizing the use of two mixed energies to reach the center of the tree of life through a balanced path.

This combination of black and white can be seen in the chariot card at the same time. Black and white here focus on yin and yang, which are usually found on two unicorns (gold and silver horns) or the sphinx (white and black body) pulling a cart (sometimes two horses), representing the light of the moon and the sun respectively. It should be noted that these two horses, whether unicorns or sphinxes, are nested together and face two different directions. So one of the main significance of the chariot is to integrate these two different energies and use this combined energy.

White and red

The combination of white and red is common in flowers and clothes (such as Ryder Vittaro's The Magician) and is usually regarded as two different grades. First, white represents passiveness, purity and innocence, while red represents liveliness, enthusiasm and desire, which seems a bit confusing, because in the black-and-white combination just mentioned, white represents masculinity, but in the white-red combination, white represents femininity. Because black and white combinations only appear in a few tarot cards, and red and white combinations can be seen in almost every card. (So the combined meaning of white and black is a special case. ) The magician in Ryder Vitaro, wearing a white robe and a red shawl, represents that he can freely use these two relative energies (as well as Bai Baihe and red roses).

Among other mysterious explanations, red and white are the key to alchemy. In alchemy, red is the recombination of "positive" elements, while white is a new combination of "negative" elements. In the process of refining, positive elements and negative elements exist in two different substances at first, and they are combined in some way at the end of refining. In alchemy, a mixture of mercuric chloride and silver can be refined into gold. ) Red also stands for "blood" and white stands for "breast milk". You can see that some books explain in abstinence cards that the water in your hand represents a mixture of blood and breast milk. In addition, the combination of red and white also has some sexual hints, but we can't see them on the cards of Lai Dewit.

black

When black is not combined with other colors, its simple symbolic meaning is a kind of "mystery", "unknown" and "darkness". Other cards have a black sky with stars on it, representing harmonious "order", "universe" or planetary movement and how it affects us.

grey

Gray is not often used meaningfully in tarot cards. It usually means "gloom", "storm" or "misfortune", and sometimes it is used to symbolize an unhealthy concept.

Red/yellow/blue/green

Red, yellow and blue are three main colors, and they also have their special importance in mysticism. We know that the three primary colors of color are red, yellow and blue (mixed into black; Taiji is also a unified field composed of three basic particles: red, yellow and blue. In particle physics, it used to be thought that red, yellow and blue are the basic particles in the world, while red, green and blue are the three primary colors of light (mixed into white). Mysterious scholars also believe that these three colors are the origin of the universe and represent three spiritual elements: fire (red), wind (yellow) and water (blue). The fourth color related to the earth is green. It belongs to the cool color system with blue, representing the energy of soil and water, and usually symbolizes passivity, passivity and acceptance. Red and yellow represent the "positive", "positive" and "shooting" of fire and wind respectively. When looking at tarot cards, we can clearly see what kind of energy or situation this thing is based on through these colors.

red

Red stands for fire, symbolizing action, enthusiasm, agitation, vitality, blood (a warm substance that gives life), mercury, Mars and token card (another way of saying it is sword). Red represents the passion for life and the impulse of animals (hehe ……), which is why lions in power cards are sometimes painted red. The queen in Ryder Wittarot sits in a red chair, which means giving birth. The emperor card is also very "red", symbolizing strong will and fortitude.

Orange (orange)

Emperor card is also one of the few cards with more oranges. Behind his throne are painted orange mountains and sky, which symbolizes that he has passed difficult challenges with strength and will. In other tarot cards, orange represents fire elements and tokens. Token Knight mixed wind (yellow) and fire (red), so golden orange appeared.

yellow

As mentioned earlier, yellow represents the element "wind" and usually symbolizes "masculinity" and "energy of the sun". In Ryder Wittarot, the yellow sky appears more times than the blue sky (heaven is dead, but the yellow sky stands? ), and the appearance of the sun is an important symbol. Yellow can be combined into another higher-level idea, which has been connected to the highest sphere (tree of life); In contrast, red represents consciousness and will, and blue represents subconsciousness.

green

Green represents the elements of the earth and symbolizes life, nature, richness and growth. Green coins and gold coins are combined in Robin Wood Tarot, while the golden queen in Ryder Wittarot stands for "living things".

blue

Blue represents the element of "water" and symbolizes the subconscious. On many cards, the blue sky represents a process of passing through the subconscious, such as pope, hermit, star, moon and so on. People in blue usually symbolize a state of introspection or a subconscious action. (such as the king of the holy grail or hanging upside down)

Purple (purplish red)

Purple is rarely used in Ledwith Tarot cards, and usually symbolizes "luxury", "wealth" or "kingship" (purple grapes on the clothes of the king of gold coins). In fact, purple also exists in Ryder Vittarot's "Devil" card. Note that the tail of a woman who is chained is a string of grapes on the clothes of the King of Gold Coins, which symbolizes that if you indulge in material desires, the "material shackles" will bind you to see the devil (in the devil's card, a man's tail is a flame, which symbolizes his impulse to get him into trouble).

Purple is usually combined with "spiritual energy" and "mysterious things", such as the purple curtain in Justice. In other modern tarot cards, we can see that purple is widely used.

Pink (rose)

Similarly, this color is very rare in Ryder Wittarot cards, except for the Holy Grail. Pink is usually covered with purple, suggesting spiritual relationship and "joy" (for example, Holy Grail III), and pink sometimes symbolizes wealth or functional satisfaction (for example, Holy Grail-lotus on the surface).

brown

Even in other cards, brown is not very common (meaningful brown), which usually symbolizes the connection with soil or actual behavior, daily affairs and so on. More common in gold coin deck (such as gold coin eight)

The Colors of the Rainbow

Rainbow is a polychromatic spectrum, such as the rainbow on the tip of Robin Wood's crystal staff, or the Holy Grail VIII in Ryder Vittarot. Rainbow usually represents "abundance", "wish come true" and "happiness", just like Holy Grail X. On the other hand, rainbow also symbolizes abundant resources or solvable problems, and sometimes it also symbolizes various situations in life.
