Uca is the Central State University of Arkansas. Arkansas State University is a comprehensive public university in the southern United States. It is located in Arkansas on the Mississippi River. The school was founded on 1909. The school was formerly known as the National Agricultural School. 1925 changed its name to state agricultural and mechanical college, 1933 changed to Arkansas state college, and 1967 officially became Arkansas state university. 1955 offered a master's degree, 1992 produced the first doctorate in education, and 1997 produced a doctorate in environmental science.
