Does Shenzhen speak Cantonese?
Shenzhen is a multilingual city, with Mandarin as the main language and Cantonese as one of the widely used languages. In Shenzhen, Cantonese is mainly distributed in Baoan, Longgang and Nanshan. Most of the residents in these areas come from the Pearl River Delta, among which Guangfu people are the main ones. Among the aborigines in Shenzhen, Hakkas are the majority, and their mother tongue is Hakka, while Cantonese is not the main language of aborigines in Shenzhen. In addition, because Shenzhen attracts a large number of migrants, Mandarin plays a leading role in Shenzhen's daily life. Despite this, young people in Shenzhen use Cantonese at a relatively low level, especially in workplaces and schools, and Mandarin is more common.
