Maria montessori: The Secret of Childhood
? To some extent, the so-called human life journey is just a difficult regression process. Return to what? Back to the original point, the innocent spirit of childhood.

What does youth mean? It means the pure primitive spirit of truth, goodness and beauty.

No matter how old you are in your life, even when you are dying, what surprises or panic events you encounter, even when you are dying and caught off guard, the voice that people subconsciously shout is often "My God".

This is actually a reaction for adults to return to childhood psychologically. Deduct this state called childhood forward, that is, return to the original childhood. At the beginning of this moment, I was ignorant, fearless, careless, heartless and careless. It is also in this period that people are closest to the state when Taoism first flourished. There is a Tao at the beginning, and there is a spirit at the beginning of the Tao. This spirit is the spirit of children.

In the book Tao Te Ching, Laozi repeatedly emphasized that babies have achieved the state of "morality": "Can softness be a baby?" This is the realm of enlightenment. "If a baby has no children, there is no reward." This is the realm of enlightenment. "Changde never leaves, but also the baby." This is the realm of enlightenment. "Many people have many mouths, and saints are sons." This is the state of the street. "The thickness of morality is thicker than that of children." A naked child and a baby are also a state of enlightenment.

Among China's traditional classics, Tao Te Ching is the one that can best understand the truth, goodness and beauty of Tao. Secondly, Mohism is close to this spirit, and Confucianism actually leaves this spirit to some extent. The furthest away is the Legalists, who have completely divorced from this spirit and thus moved towards a completely opposite state. Its direction and path are similar to Sparta in ancient Greece.

Rousseau of France also has a deep understanding of the supremacy of babies and children, so he wrote works such as Emile and advocated naturalism. Rousseau's famous saying about children's education is "Education is growth". The so-called "growth" is the original expression in the natural state. It can be seen that Rousseau's naturalism really originated from "nature". From a rational point of view, this is precisely the harmful political romanticism complex that Rousseau's thought has been particularly criticized. We know that romanticism is great as an art, but as a social and political romanticism, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

Compared with Rousseau, the most criticized thing in Laozi's thought is the common state: "People take their eyes and ears, saints take their children." According to the consistent criticism, Lao Tzu has a tendency of obscurantism. I hope people don't have intelligence and ignorance. According to this way of thinking, I hope that "a small country with few people" and "people will not associate with each other until they die." From the social and political point of view, Lao Tzu does have a tendency to be conservative or even retreat. A thorough understanding of abstract laws, but a lack of foresight in the development of human civilization, is the weakness of Laozi's thought.

Of course, these are the latter questions. That is, Lao Tzu's reflection on the future after human beings got rid of the baby state and gained the ability of thinking and speculation. But interestingly, the result of reflection is not progress, but conservatism and even retrogression.

It's as if a person has grown up, become independent, worked hard in the society for many years, experienced all kinds of joys and sorrows, succeeded and failed, lost, and suddenly found that the baby was in good condition. Is there any good way? The main reason is that there are not so many joys and sorrows, joys and sorrows, gains and losses of success or failure, and confusion. Therefore, people imagine that the end point of regression should be the origin, and the way of regression is to "abandon wisdom", which is Lao Tzu's description, and actually fully meets Rousseau's expectations. Rousseau is indeed anti-civilization and anti-progress to a certain extent.

This is from the performance of Lao Zi and Rousseau's disappointment with reality and their ideal for the future. The so-called ideal for the future is not to continue to make progress in the future, to stand still, and it is best to regress. Therefore, from the perspective of development, the so-called future is not the future, but the past. Back off, back off, back off. Back to the starting point, you reach the future. Just like a circle, the end point reaches the starting point, and the two points coincide, and the circle is perfect.

As far as the spirit is concerned, a thorough examination of one's own ideals is mainly to advocate real ideals and pursuits. This is not a mistake from the perspective of aesthetic spirit, not from the perspective of education. Because in the adult world, what is missing is exactly what has been lost, that is, the true spirit of childhood. But from the perspective of education, for a baby, education is first and foremost development, and whether it will come back or not will be later.

When we look at the spirit of saving adults, we find the similarities among three thinkers who also love children: Lao Zi, Rousseau and Montessori, that is, they all try to save adults' confusion and troubles with the simplicity of childhood humanity. They tried to find a way to return to adult mental confusion, and the name of this road was childhood.

As far as the spirit of education and the road of development are concerned, Montessori is right. Indeed, children are mysterious, the king of adults and the master of the world spirit. Especially when I witnessed my young son with my own eyes and looked at his clear and transparent eyes, which seemed like an endless universe, I felt extremely ashamed and consciously ugly. I feel that he is not naked in front of me, but that I am completely naked in front of him. I am deeply ashamed and ashamed of this. He is so mysterious and great that my humbleness and ugliness are self-evident.

From a baby's point of view, this is the victory of Tao spirit, a complete, comprehensive, in-depth and thorough victory. Therefore, I have to bow to a baby and accept his training for me. This is the beginning of my journey back to the Tao.
