As an international language, English has been paid more and more attention. As the cornerstone of enlightenment education, children's English education has become a "hot spot". With the development of social economy, people pay more and more attention to the development and research of bilingual education, and bilingual teaching in kindergartens has become an urgent need for parents and children. Practice has proved that it is of great benefit for children to be exposed to English and express their thoughts in English and Chinese at the same time during the language development period.
However, in the current English teaching for young children, due to the deviation in understanding and practice, many English teaching for young children has become an adult.
Children lose interest in learning English prematurely. So, how to improve children's interest in learning English? Since the establishment of English classes in our garden, through teachers' continuous exploration and practice, we have explored a set of teaching methods suitable for children's age characteristics. And pay attention to cultivating children's interest in learning, and the teaching effect is very good. In teaching, we follow the following principles:
First, the principle of fun
Interest is people's tendency to like certain activities or try to understand certain things. Interest can be divided into direct interest and indirect interest. Direct interest is interest in the thing itself. For example, when children begin to learn English, they usually have the desire to try a foreign language. If teachers can adopt some novel and interesting teaching methods to stimulate children's curiosity and make them learn English with great interest, when they learn a daily language and learn to say a few English words, they will have a sense of satisfaction and a pleasant experience, thus further generating their interest in learning English.
"Interest is the best teacher", and interest can greatly promote learning. If a person is interested in what he has learned, he will be diligent and enjoy it, and the more he learns, the more he loves learning. Interest is not innate, it needs the guidance, cultivation and protection of teachers to form and develop. Children are active, love acting, not shy, and are willing to accept new and interesting things, and the quality of teachers' teaching methods directly affects their interest in learning. Use game teaching to make boring language accepted by children as much as possible. Lively and interesting learning forms allow children to play while studying, creating a good language communication situation for children, which is conducive to children's English learning and cultivating their various qualities.
Second, a variety of teaching methods to improve children's interest in English.
As the saying goes, interest is the best teacher. "Learn by playing, learn by playing". Playing is a child's nature, and games are the most interesting. English education in kindergarten is an enlightenment, so we should focus on our interest in learning English. If children are interested in English, they will show positive emotions in the process of learning, and children will actively participate in activities. On the other hand, if we only pursue the number of words and sentences, it will spoil the child's appetite and the child will be in a negative state.
Therefore, we should play games when designing teaching activities, and pay attention to let children learn words slowly in various games. First of all, the words to be mastered are presented to students in various forms such as pictures, headdresses and actions, and the whole quantitative input is implemented. According to different children's memory characteristics, they will remember different words more or less. Playing with middle school and using it in learning can improve children's interest in learning, consolidate the language forms they have learned and stimulate their sense of accomplishment. By listening and feeling repeatedly in the game, the impression in the mind is deepened, which not only allows children to participate in the game, but also gives them a relaxed and harmonious language environment, which makes the classroom full of vitality.
1, story teaching method
This story is very attractive to preschool children. It is vivid, rich and interesting. English content runs through the story, which can fully arouse children's enthusiasm, concentrate and enhance their learning awareness and interest in a harmonious atmosphere. For example, when I was teaching "Come in" and "Go out", I first told the children a story about a mother rabbit who wanted to buy food and let the baby rabbit wait at home, but a big bad wolf came and told the baby rabbit to open the door. Bunny found a big bad wolf and drove the wolf away together. In the story, "Come in." And children are very interested in it. Unconsciously, they all mastered it and were impressed.
2. Situational teaching method.
In teaching practice, it is often found that many children can speak a lot of English fluently and standard, but when asked what this sentence means, they are "speechless". For example, I said to my children, "I'm so glad to see you!" " Children will answer me: "Nice to meet you!" But he never spontaneously greets others with this sentence, only others say "nice to meet you!" " After answering others: "Nice to meet you!" In the final analysis, it is because children don't understand the meaning of every English sentence.
In view of this phenomenon, teachers are not encouraged to teach an English sentence, but to explain it in Chinese immediately. It is necessary to actively create situations for children, and the situations should be vivid, so that children can understand the meaning of every English sentence in a specific situation. For example, the teacher created a situation of ringing the doorbell and visiting friends, using English directly related to the current situation, supplemented by a lot of actions and expressions, and then let the children open the door to invite friends, which consolidated the teaching content in time.
By learning English in this way, children can understand and use what they have learned. This form can better cultivate children's comprehensive ability to use language knowledge, cultivate their cooperation and accomplish a task together, thus improving their performance and language expression ability. With a certain vocabulary and sentence patterns, teachers can let children combine and perform freely.
3. Game teaching method.
An educator once said: Children are naturally active, and play is their life. Indeed, games are one of children's favorite forms. Playing is a child's nature, which accords with the characteristics of children's active nature. Games can stimulate children's interest in learning English, close the relationship between teachers and students, provide children with opportunities to fully use the language, mobilize their enthusiasm for learning, integrate knowledge into games, and let children practice what they have learned in interesting games and master knowledge unconsciously. More importantly, they feel the joy of learning English.
Therefore, kindergarten English activities should be as gamified as possible, and education should be integrated into the game, so that children can learn English easily in the game. For example, the outdoor sports game "Wolf Wolf, what time is it?" This game is familiar to children and they like it very much. So, I changed the game to
"Wolf, Wolf, what can you do?" One child was invited to be an old wolf, and the others were lambs. The lamb asked, "Wolf, Wolf, what can you do?" The wolf replied, "I can eat." Then he began to chase the lamb. On the basis of the original game experience, children learn English easily and happily, and learn the sentence pattern "What can you do? I can jump/run. …… .................................................................................................................................................... ...................... In this case, children find learning English interesting, thus laying a good foundation for future study.
Third, create an English environment to stimulate children's interest in learning
Curiosity is a child's gift, and interest is a child's best "teacher". Piaget pointed out that children's activities are dominated by interests and needs. Teachers use physical objects, visual AIDS and other teaching methods in class to create situations and contexts as much as possible, so that children can have rich and interesting dialogue activities. Visual teaching AIDS are vivid, easy for children to understand, accept and be impressed, which is helpful to memory, suitable for children's curious and active characteristics, can attract children's intentional attention, arouse children's enthusiasm and curiosity to the maximum extent, stimulate children's interest in learning, enhance children's thirst for knowledge and improve teaching effect.
For example, when I was teaching children to learn animal names, I brought a finger toy to introduce my own animal names. "Hello, I'm … Hello!" " Then let the children wear dolls and learn sentences and new words. In this way, the children scrambled to say that everyone was very interested. When learning the sentences and words that represent colors, I designed a "lucky wheel" with seven colors on it. The teacher asked, "What color is it?" The children raised their hands to answer, some guessed red, some guessed green and some guessed blue. Finally, the teacher turns the turntable, and the children who answer correctly can get small gifts to encourage and praise. This not only stimulates children's strong interest in learning English, but also makes them remember it deeply.
