Reflections on English Teaching in Primary Schools

I have been thinking about how to be an excellent English teacher since the day I crossed my major and said "Hello, classmates" to my students for the first time. What kind of teaching methods will be welcomed by students? How can children fall in love with English? In these months of teaching, I deeply realized the following points:

1, role transformation and performance

The thinking mode of primary school students is flashback, so many texts and dialogues are difficult to remember and master in English teaching. Teachers should try their best to make teaching intuitive and interesting. That's the most direct expression. First of all, we should carefully choose and design some English teaching games, such as teaching you r/ he/she. Sentence patterns, I designed a game of "finding the owner". Every time, let one student go out first, take something from another student, and then let the students who go out come back to guess the owner of the thing. When students guess, should they use this is yours/his/her? Ask questions in sentence patterns, and other students will answer with yes/no.The one who finds the owner fastest can get a small red flower. The second is to introduce music into the classroom to cultivate students' interest in English and enhance their memory. For example, ABCsong and Good Morning to you should use novel and interesting riddles and stories to arouse students' interest. For example, let the students close the book, pay attention to my mouth change (silence), and judge which word I said, and the one who said it right first won. Fourthly, let students participate in the design performance, let each student perform with reading or music, and add the English knowledge they have learned during the performance, which has a good effect and strengthened students' interest in English.

2. Introduce competition

Children are competitive. Appropriate competition activities in the classroom, such as inter-group competition, men's and women's competition, free combination competition and personal challenge, can not only enliven the classroom atmosphere, but also cultivate the sense of cooperation in the competition. Such as: question relay contest, word imitation contest, reading contest, action guessing, mouth guessing and so on.

In short, primary school students are fun, active, competitive and curious. As teachers, we must adopt flexible and diverse teaching methods from the psychological point of view of students to cultivate their interest in learning.

Reflections on English Teaching in the Second Primary School

Educator Ye Lan said: A teacher may not write lesson plans all his life, but he may become a teacher after three years of reflection. This sentence profoundly emphasizes the importance of teaching reflection. When I teach this course, according to the physical and psychological characteristics of primary school students, closely around the teaching objectives, I make full use of various lively teaching forms, such as situation maps, word cards, courseware, audio-visual resources, etc., and integrate what I have learned with my life. Let students use their brains and dare to speak in the process of listening, speaking, reading and playing, so as to achieve the purpose of flexible use of language.

In the whole teaching process, teachers are no longer indoctrinators and lecturers, but guides and organizers, guiding students to use language flexibly and cultivating students' innovative ability and cooperative inquiry ability. Teachers should strive to create a relaxed and happy classroom, so that students can gain considerable initiative, improve teaching quality and guide students to the palace of new knowledge.

In this class, I also found my own shortcomings in teaching and the direction I should work hard in teaching in the future.

1, the process of vocabulary teaching is still not fully mastered. The form of word practice is single, and the practice is not enough. In the future teaching, in order to make students master words better, on the one hand, we should demonstrate in place and standardize pronunciation, on the other hand, we should do large-scale exercises for students, and adopt a variety of lively teaching methods, such as reading aloud by the whole class, reading aloud by boys and girls, reading aloud in groups, reading vertically and horizontally, etc., to practice words and avoid the monotony of vocabulary teaching.

2. Not being able to face all the students in class. In the future teaching, I will respect students' individual differences, follow students' cognitive rules, face all students, awaken students' theme consciousness, mobilize students' initiative and enthusiasm in all directions, let students receive training in listening, speaking, reading, reciting and acting in a relaxed and happy situation, and make the whole classroom present a harmonious and orderly scene.

3. When teaching new knowledge, some words are not taught in the corresponding situation. In any vocabulary teaching, teachers should follow the teaching law of "words cannot be separated from sentences and sentences cannot be separated from scenery", and words are the three major elements of language. If it is limited to words, it will make the classroom boring, and lead-in will kill children's interest in learning English. In the future teaching, I will introduce new words and add interesting examples in a specific context, which will not only help students understand, but also deepen their impression. In addition, students are exposed to the real language environment, so that they can naturally use the words they have learned to express their thoughts and feelings, thus achieving the effect of applying what they have learned.

Even if there are omissions and mistakes in a successful classroom page, I will review and organize my own classroom, and deeply reflect, explore and analyze it. After a long period of accumulation, there will be a harvest of "many a mickle makes a mickle".

Reflections on English Teaching in Primary Schools

After this class, several interesting exercises, expansion activities and inquiry activities designed by Feeling are deeply loved by students. Students have a strong interest and actively participate in it, which has achieved my teaching goal. Children fully embody the spirit of cooperative learning in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. In the interesting practice, they easily mastered the words and sentences, enhanced students' self-confidence and sense of accomplishment, and cultivated students' spirit of cooperation and innovation. It can be seen that an interesting English class needs teachers to lead students to jointly develop, explore, expand and imagine. I think this course embodies the following points:

First, attach importance to students' dominant position and realize the change of teachers' role.

We know that the main body of classroom learning is students. Students should be interested in English and really apply what they have learned to practice. These are our goals. To achieve these goals, teachers should try their best to mobilize students' imagination and creativity, guide them to think, analyze, summarize and use English, learn independently and create independently, and form good self-study habits. Therefore, this course has designed many student-centered activities, including individuals (listening and recording), pairs, groups (clapping, listening and posting pictures …) and the whole class (guessing games, talking freely …). These activities are directed by teachers and require students to be independent or cooperative. Activities have clear objectives and requirements, which can be arranged in a certain context and situation, highlighting the students' habit of learning English and the cultivation of their ability to communicate in English, and embodying the idea of communicative language teaching. Teachers pay attention to the transformation and control of roles in teaching activities. After inspiration and demonstration, they can leave enough time for students. Through a series of performances and activities, students can practice and show themselves hard and feel successful. For example, after learning new words, we designed a practice match of choosing word cards and guessing games. Through the competition, the enthusiasm of students was fully mobilized, and all the staff participated, which easily consolidated the new words. After learning the new sentence patterns, students engage in various interesting situational dialogues in groups of four. (Clap your hands, choose word cards, listen to the tape and post pictures ...), cultivate students' team consciousness and cooperative enterprising spirit.

Second, pay attention to the interest and visualization in the learning process to help students master knowledge quickly and accurately.

The teaching content of this course is mainly about the past tense and past tense sentence patterns of teaching verbs. In the design, the methods of decomposing difficulties, presenting step by step, expanding step by step and deepening layer by layer are adopted, and the quality of demonstration is emphasized to ensure students' correct understanding of language meaning. Through various simulation and practice activities, students can master new language forms. For example, how can I get to the museum in teaching sentences? So ... where ... using cards and recordings to present the teaching content is lively and interesting, and students can easily master it.

Third, give consideration to students' listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities and cultivate students' innovative thinking.

Listening, speaking, reading and writing are the knowledge and ability goals to be achieved in English class. The exercises in the teaching design of this course take into account the exercises of listening, speaking, reading and writing. For example, when teaching a new phrase to turn left, let the students listen to the tape, the teacher do the action, and the students guess the meaning of the word; Group discussion and sentence pattern replacement not only exercise students' application ability, but also achieve the purpose of hierarchical teaching. In teaching, innovative methods, the comprehensive application of old and new knowledge and the exertion of imagination cultivate students' innovative thinking and ability. Design the link of making sentences with words to cultivate students' writing and application ability.

At the same time, there are some shortcomings in the teaching of this course. For example, teaching design pays attention to group cooperation and cultivating students' teamwork spirit. There are only one or two exercises to cultivate students' individual consciousness. It is necessary to design some teaching links that can not only reflect the individual's ability to play the overall role, but also link the individual and the whole of students, so as to achieve the purpose of applying what they have learned. I will improve this practice in future teaching.
