The hardness of chalcedony is 7 of that of crystal, so it is regarded as a kind of precious stone (semi-precious stone), which is often used as an ornament or ornamental stone for rings, earrings, brooches and necklaces. Among them, chalcedony produced in Dulan Mountain, a coastal mountain range, is also called blue chalcedony, which was produced after Miocene, because the minerals that make up this vein were precipitated by low-temperature hydrothermal solution containing silicate in the cracks of andesite aggregate. Sapphire is mainly composed of radioactive fibrous or spherical chalcedony, and often contains a small amount of chlorite opal and natural copper. It mainly occurs in the southern and middle sections of coastal mountainous areas and exists in irregular veins in the cracks of andesite blocks in Dulan Mountain. Produced in Shimen area of Baliwan mountain system, it became Ameisi of Guang 'ao mountain system. Hua Lanbao, also known as Hua Bao, was born for sapphire and jasper or Blackstone. Produced in Shimen Xikou, Sanfuxi, Fengbin, Hualien and Chongan seaside in Chenggong Town, Taitung.
