Why do China children laugh less than American children?
This is more about education. Whether at school or at home, American education tends to respect children's personality, that is, to tolerate children's personality. And our education tends to suppress children's personality. Many parents will tell their children that they can't do this or that, for fear that their children will be hurt. American parents are not afraid that their children will be hurt. They believe that children should be independent individuals and respect their personality development. Even if they are hurt or fail, then children will learn a lot from it. Secondly, this is the cultural difference between us. Throughout the ages, we have advocated "loyalty, filial piety, benevolence and righteousness" in culture, including "parents' lives cannot be violated", and defined the relationship between parents and children as similar to "master-slave relationship". Children can't be "equal" before their parents, and everything is right. The absence of such cultural influence in the West does not mean that their children can not be "filial" to their parents. They prefer that parents need respect, but children also need to be respected.
