English listening grinding ears
As we all know, it is essential to learn a language and create an immersive language environment. Listening is the first step in learning a language, so children must input a lot of English contexts if they want to acquire English.

Under the current trend of normalization of epidemic situation, it is obviously an unreachable dream to go abroad to find a language environment.

Some people say that children can be sent to bilingual kindergartens. Children spend only a few hours in kindergarten every day, which can't reach the "immersive" language environment of their mother tongue; What's more, where can I find a good bilingual kindergarten in China? Even if there is, tens of thousands of tuition fees a year will make many families flinch. Therefore, this is not a good solution.

In China, the only way to create an all-English environment for children is to grasp the characteristics of children's hyperactivity and color sensitivity; Use foreign classic audio-visual materials to "grind eyes" and "grind ears" for children, and try to simulate real English scenes as much as possible.

There are a lot of audio-visual materials at the end of the article, and there are always children who haven't seen them.

(1) Family supervision is essential.

Before grinding children's ears, parents must first have a serious attitude.

Children's English enlightenment is a long-term struggle. The key lies in parents' methods and persistence. We'll talk about the method later. The first point I want to emphasize here is:

If children learn a language, 20% rely on educational institutions, then the remaining 80% rely on the supervision of the family environment. No child knows how to persist at birth, and teachers in any institution are not as familiar with children as parents. Therefore, parents should first correct their attitude, set an example and stand in the first post of children's English enlightenment!

(2) Time for grinding ears

Some parents feel that they listen to their children for 30 minutes every day, but for ordinary children in the domestic environment, 30 minutes is absolutely too little.

Generally speaking, the younger a child is, the longer it takes to grind his ears.

Before children go to kindergarten, they can spend all their time grinding their ears except sleeping.

After kindergarten and primary school, the available time is from getting up to entering school, from coming back from school to going to bed. Besides necessary tasks, such as sports and homework, there is also plenty of time available.

In short, as long as children are not using their eyes, they can grind their ears, such as eating, walking, taking a car, going to the toilet, playing with building blocks and so on, without affecting safety. In particular, I want to remind everyone that the time to grind your ears every day does not need to be a whole time. There is no need to ask children to sit in a dangerous place and listen attentively, just listen at any time when it is convenient. In fact, we can't spend a lot of time listening to children.

(3) The way of grinding ears

I once briefly described how to let children listen to a question and answer in Zhihu, which emphasized that children don't need to sit there to grind their ears. Parents can use their children's daily life time to listen, such as using their children's time to eat, go to the toilet, take a car, play games and take a shower. This is called extensive listening.

Generally speaking, 80% of children's ear grinding is extensive listening, that is, listening to various audio repeatedly according to their interests. The remaining 20% grinding ears is intensive listening, with the purpose of promoting learning through exams. The combined effect of this ear grinding should be the best. In fact, everyone has understood extensive listening: let children voluntarily spend enough free time every day, choose suitable materials according to their own level, and concentrate on grinding their ears. So how do you concentrate on the lecture?

Compared with extensive reading listening, intensive reading listening is not so easy. Intensive listening needs to prepare a suitable piece of material. The choice of this material is not based on children's interests, but refers to Cambridge children's English or other English listening materials, with a wide range of choices. If parents are not sure, they can directly refer to the listening simulation questions of the corresponding level exam.
