What's the matter with children walking on tiptoe? Do you need a doctor's rehabilitation physiotherapy?
Last month, Dingdong's mother and I gave feedback after class, saying that children would stand on tiptoe when they walked and tried to learn how to walk. But only occasionally, such as walking in the community and visiting the supermarket, he will stand on tiptoe from time to time. After several times to stop "don't walk on tiptoe like this", the child didn't change much, and her mother expressed a little concern.

Walking on tiptoe is usually a temporary ailment. Many children will stand, walk or run in various ways when they are 1-2 years old, and most of them will land first. The performance is that the child's calf muscles are tight, the body coordination is not enough, the center of gravity is unstable, the body will lean forward, and there is a lack of touch.

Generally speaking, most children walk on tiptoe because of curiosity and imitation, which makes them feel funny. For example, when you see someone with such toes, you imitate behavior. I once saw a neighbor's child walking on tiptoe unintentionally. Everyone laughed and said, "Look how funny this child is. One foot deep and one foot shallow, so funny. " Although the speaker has no intention, the child's private logic thinks that he has brought laughter to everyone and gained unanimous attention, so he should continue to do so. To this end, the tiptoe behavior lasted for some time. In fact, this situation does not require parental intervention, and the children will get through this stage themselves.

The above example also shows that some children tiptoe to seek the attention of others. As long as I walk like this, my parents will care about me.

If so, parents should reflect on whether they have not given their children enough attention and guidance. In this case, avoid saying "no language", such as "don't walk like this, don't always tiptoe", and teach your child the correct way to walk with positive language, such as keeping your feet flat and walking step by step.

Some children even tiptoe because they wear uncomfortable socks and shoes, but they can't express it, so parents must try something suitable for their children when choosing shoes and socks.

Of course, it does not rule out that some children have too tight achilles tendon and need to be stretched to recover. There may be other reasons leading to stunting, which need to be examined and identified by doctors.

Sometimes parents can't help worrying about their children's healthy growth and development. Their desire to love their children is understandable, but sometimes they don't need excessive anxiety and worry.

If the child only tiptoes occasionally, the gait will be normal at other times.

It doesn't matter if the child's feet are not pointing forward when sleeping or lying flat.

Dad can easily bend and stretch the child's feet up and down, indicating that there is no problem with development.

After reading the Hills Parenting Encyclopedia, I learned that if the child's performance is close to the following symptoms, it is still recommended to see a doctor:

(1) Children walk on tiptoe every day and every moment like ballerinas.

(2) When lying flat, keep your feet bent forward.

(3) The child's Achilles tendon and calf muscles are very tight and need to be flexed and stretched.

In addition, if the child's tiptoe behavior lasts for a long time, especially over 2 years old, or has a family history, he should also seek medical advice in time. Later, Dingdong's mother was not at ease, so she went to consult a doctor.

Speaking of doctors, first observe the gait of children walking, bend their feet, check whether the achilles tendon is normal, and then see if the children can stand horizontally with their heels down. Finally, the overall development level, muscle state and coordination of the child were evaluated. Everything was normal and there was no need to cooperate with the doctor's rehabilitation physiotherapy.

Therefore, it is suggested that the mother should ignore the child's performance first, because it is speculated that the child may only be for the above two reasons. If she interferes, she should use positive language to guide the child how to walk correctly, instead of reinforcing his wrong way.

Parents are always the people who love and know their children best, and any situation needs careful observation.

In our early education class, parents are advised to help children take off their children and crawl barefoot in the classroom. This can increase the baby's plantar stimulation and promote their physical development and growth.

Parents, teachers and even life are concerned about the healthy growth of children. No matter what the situation is, there are solutions to help them grow up healthily and happily. The important thing is that we can analyze rationally and face it calmly.
