Seabirds in Zhuangzi
In Zhuangzi, there is a story about seabirds:

A seabird flew to the outskirts of the capital city of Lu, and the king of Lu took the seabird to the ancestral temple dedicated to the first emperor, and presented it with the most grand sacrifice-Tai Prison (pigs, cows and sheep) and the most beautiful music-Jiu Shao. When the birds saw these things, they were too scared to take a bite of meat or drink. Three days later, they starved to death.

Zhuangzi said: This is keeping birds according to their own living methods, not keeping birds according to their own living methods.

To raise a bird, we should keep it according to the bird's lifestyle, let it live in the Woods, walk in the sandbar, swim in the rivers and lakes, and catch fish in the water.

For example, if a person plays the famous songs "Salt Lake" and "Jiu Shao" in the wilderness, birds will fly, animals will run and fish will sink into the water. However, everyone ran to see it.

Fish can live happily in the water, but people will drown if they fall into the water. People have different natures and hobbies.

So:

Therefore, saints will not use the same standards to determine people's abilities, nor can they ask different people to do the same things.

Fame stops at actual effect, and benevolence stops at conformity.

"The highest happiness is carefree, and the perfect praise is not praise."

There is no joy of life, no fear of death.

Life and death alternate like day and night. Don't be happy or sad.
