Qingshui River, called Xiluo Water, Gaopingchuan Water and Wei Ru Water in ancient times, originated from Heici Gounao in urban and rural areas at the eastern foot of Liupanshan Mountain and flowed northward through Guyuan, Haiyuan, Tongxin and Zhongning counties. It used to be the largest and longest tributary of the Yellow River in Ningxia, with a flow of 180 km (straight line) and a drainage area of 8499.6. Under the influence of the whole climate, the flow of Qingshui River is getting smaller and smaller, showing the characteristics of arid and semi-arid rivers. Historically, the terraced fields along the Qingshui River were places where indigenous people lived, multiplied and cultivated. It is also a place where ethnic minorities in the north integrate with each other; Qingshui River Basin is a part of Guyuan, the ancient Silk Road, and also a part of Xiaoguan Ancient Road. It is also the main channel for ancient northern minorities to enter the Central Plains. At present, there are many large ancient city sites along the Qingshui River, which are the epitome of the war left by the two sides of the Qingshui River.
