Content of the picture book The Hungry Caterpillar:
In the moonlight, a small egg is lying on the leaves.
On Sunday morning, the warm sun rose. Bang, a hungry little caterpillar crawled out of the egg. It's going to find something to eat.
On Monday, he ate an apple. However, I am still hungry. It's going to find something to eat.
On Tuesday, he ate two pears. However, I am still hungry. It's going to find something to eat.
On Wednesday, he ate three plums. However, I am still hungry. It's going to find something to eat.
On Thursday, he ate four strawberries. However, I am still hungry. It's going to find something to eat.
On Friday, he ate five oranges. However, I am still hungry.
On Saturday, he ate a chocolate cake, an ice cream cone, a pickled cucumber, a piece of cheese, a ham, a lollipop, a cherry pie, a sausage, a cupcake and a piece of watermelon. That night, the caterpillar's stomach hurts!
The next day, it was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate a bright green leaf. I feel much more comfortable.
Now, the caterpillar does not feel hungry. It is no longer a little caterpillar. He is a fat and big caterpillar. It built a small house called cocoon and wrapped itself in it. It lived in it for more than two weeks, and then it bit a hole in the cocoon and came out.
Ah! The caterpillar turned into a beautiful butterfly.
