How to get the shell when the Brazilian tortoise is dead?
If you want to get a complete turtle shell and keep it for a long time, you need to know the basic structure of the turtle shell first.

There are two kinds of turtle shells:

One is water turtle or tortoise, such as grass turtle, flower turtle, Brazilian yellow throat, etc., and the abdominal shell and dorsal shell are healed into a whole.

When taking the shell, start with the skin and muscles attached to the bone plate, cut the skin along the bone plate, then cut the chest and abdomen muscles on the abdominal nail against the bone plate, and then cut off the movable parts of the cervical and coccygeal vertebrae.

After the cutting is completed, pull the hind limbs of the body and pull out all soft tissues. As long as the four attachment points mentioned above are cut well, the turtle's body parts can be easily pulled out.

Then clean up the residual muscles and fascia, especially the residual nerves near the spine, and then you can carry out routine antiseptic treatment.

One is a semi-water turtle, such as a yellow-edged yellow-fronted box turtle. The abdominal shell is connected by ligaments with hinge structure and can move.

It is best to cut the tortoise shell along the hinge part, then cut the skin attached to the bone plate, and grab the abdominal shell and break it outward. After breaking, remove the two major muscle groups on the abdominal nail and get a complete abdominal nail.

Then cut off the joint of cervical vertebra and coccygeal vertebra, pull the head, neck and forelimbs, and pull hard from the direction of abdominal armor to pull out all parts of the body.

Finally, clean the soft tissue on the inner wall of the turtle shell and carry out routine antiseptic treatment.

If it is antiseptic, it can't be soaked or boiled in hot water, which will turn the soft tissue between bone plates into gelatin dissolved by heat, and the stratum corneum will be deformed and tilted by heat. It is suggested that salt or baking soda be evenly applied to the shell, dried in the shade for 2 days, and the residue be washed off. After drying again, it should be sprayed evenly on the tortoise shell with transparent spray paint to form a closed paint film. So it can be preserved for a long time.
