Personally, I think reading, including reading famous books, will not bring direct benefits.
I graduated from college now. As far as I know, few people in our major can read famous books. Although I have read almost all the so-called masterpieces in junior high school, there is no gap between my performance in school and my social experience.
However, I remember teaching some students Tang and Song poems in middle school, which was of great help to the composition.
But for children, it is good to read some famous books. My mother likes Verne, so Verne was the first author I came into contact with when I was a child. I think this has played a decisive role in my choice of engineering.
Reading books as a child will increase children's interest in learning something. For children's early education, I think children's own curiosity is very important.
But for people over the age of 16, personally, don't you think it's better to simply enjoy reading than what you want to bring to yourself? (Unless you are reading a philosophy or financial masterpiece)
