How to guide a two-year-old child to wear shoes backwards?
When I was more than 2 years old, I took my children to an early education class. The teacher put up a sticker to let him know his right hand. Because every time the reward sticker is attached to the right hand, it doesn't cost money. When you know your right hand, you naturally know your left hand. Later, the teacher taught him his left foot and right foot, which I didn't understand until I was in elementary school. He figured it out when he was over 2 years old.

A child has a lot to learn. He can tell the difference between left and right feet, but he can't tell the difference between left and right shoes. He always wears it backwards. Wearing shoes backwards will make your feet uncomfortable and easy to fall.

So, how to guide children to put on the right shoes?

1. Show him the shapes of shoes and feet.

The shape of the shoe is similar to that of the foot, and the big toe is longer, so the inside of the shoe is a little longer than the outside. It is most obvious that children wear slippers that fit their feet. Parents can deliberately let him wear it backwards for comparison. If he wears it backwards, his big toe will be exposed and he will easily trip and get hurt. Parents can deliberately pat his protruding big toe with something, so that he will be more impressed.

Wear the right shoes, and neither the big toe nor the little toe will be exposed. Parents can't knock on any toes when they knock on anything.

2. Stick a sticker that children like on the fixed side of the shoes.

The same method may have different effects on different children. If you try the above methods, the child still can't remember. Then you can try this method.

For example, many children like Piggy Peggy. We can stick Piggy Peggy on the inside of shoes and tell children that these two pigs are good friends. When you wear shoes, let them all be inside, so that you can play together when you are close.

3. Distinguish according to the characteristics of shoes

Some shoes have openings on the left and right sides, such as adhesive tapes, zippers and buttons. Therefore, we can take our children to see these two places specially and often emphasize to him, for example, the adhesive tape is on both sides, so he will pay a little attention when wearing it, so that he will not wear it wrong.

The first method, which I taught my children some time ago, is very useful. Before that, he tripped several times because his shoes were put on backwards, and once he broke his knee. Because I suffered a lot, he listened to me when I taught him.

It's just that children at this stage still focus on short-term memory. Maybe he remembered everything when we told him a few days ago, but a few days later, when he changed his shoes, he forgot again. It doesn't matter, let's stop hitting him, encourage him more, guide him more patiently, and he will remember it thoroughly after a few times.
