45 countries (regions) participated in the 19 Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023. Countries that did not participate in the Asian Games included Turkey, Israel, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Cyprus. These six Asian countries have not yet joined the OCA, nor are they members of the organization, so they will not participate in the Asian Games. Australia and New Zealand need to take part in the Commonwealth Games at the same time, so they didn't take part in the Hangzhou Asian Games.

The top ten venues for the Hangzhou Asian Games are Hangzhou Gymnasium, Binjiang Gymnasium, China Hangzhou E-sports Center, Shangcheng Sports Center Stadium, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Swimming Pool, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Xiaoshan Sports Center Gymnasium, West Lake International Golf Course, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Tennis Center and Huanglong Sports Center Swimming and Diving Hall.
2. Venues include Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Huanglong Sports Center Stadium, Grand Canal Asian Games Park, Beijingyuan, Dongwan Headquarters Base, Beizhijiang Water Sports Center, Modern Pentathlon Hall of Asian Games, Chun 'an Jieshou Sports Center, Zhejiang Tonglu Yaolin National Forest Park, Shangcheng Sports Center Stadium, etc.
3. The venues of Hangzhou Asian Games are mainly distributed in Hangzhou, including Xiaoshan District, Gongshu District, Jianggan District, Xiacheng District, Yuhang District and Xihu District.
There are three Asian Games venues in Gongshu District of Hangzhou: China Hangzhou E-sports Center, Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium and Hangzhou Gymnasium.

There are 56 competition venues in Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Paralympic Games, which are distributed in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Huzhou, Shaoxing and Jinhua according to the principle of "Hangzhou main venue is shared by the whole province".
