During the Jiaqing period, Anbaili religion was combined with local people, which led to religious chaos in Sichuan and Chu, the uprising failed and Anbaili religion declined from then on.
Until modern times, Anbailism did not disappear, but it changed qualitatively. Lao Naixuan, a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, believed that the Boxer Rebellion originated from Anbailism. Many folk religions and groups, including the Boxer Rebellion, have close ties with Bailian Sect. They have similar beliefs and legends, usually taking "no birth mother" as the main god and Maitreya as the call for salvation.
