I saw Feng Dequan's early teaching in 2007. At that time, teaching children to read was not very popular, unlike many literacy cards sold online now, so I tried to teach Binbao to read. When Binbao was about one year old, I posted many words at home, such as "TV" on TV, "refrigerator" on the refrigerator and "door" on the door. I knew nearly a hundred words before I was two years old. After I was two years old, I liked to play games, so I wrote the words on square paper and played games with him. We step on words together, watch words make expressions and actions, pin words, go fishing with magnets, and "hide and seek" with words. He is willing to play such a game, and he knows the words unconsciously. At the age of four, he was able to read simple story books by himself.
Compared with Ding Baobei now, although Ding Bao's language is slower than Binbao's, it's almost a year behind, but I teach less. Why do I teach less? Objectively speaking, I spend an hour on the road to work every day. On the other hand, the use of smart phones makes my wife and I spend a certain amount of time, but less time to spend with our children efficiently and purposefully.
Seeing these literacy cards made by my novice again reminds me to spend more time with my children. Now Ding Bao is three years old, so I should spend more time with him. I hope Ding Bao can read books by himself as soon as possible. From Binbao's study, early literacy has many benefits for children, such as acquiring knowledge, developing good reading habits and improving self-confidence.
