What's the difference between Taoist Quanzhen and Zhengyi?
1, different origins

The orthodox school originated in the Han Dynasty, and the Quanzhen school originated in the Jin Dynasty.

2. Different distribution areas

The orthodox school is mainly distributed in the southern area south of Huaihe River, while the Quanzhen school is mainly distributed in the vast area in the north of China, and it is also interspersed in the southern area (Quanzhen Nanzong).

3. Different historical positions.

In ancient times (except Jin and Yuan dynasties, which were slightly comparable), orthodoxy was always in the orthodox position recognized by the rulers. Quanzhen school is not recognized by the rulers, and its influence is far less than that of Zhengyi school.

4. Different practice methods.

The orthodox school, whose major is Fuyong, believes in external alchemy, and most of them are Taoist priests who live in fire (that is, eat meat to get married) and Taoist priests who live in temples. But the implementation of the commandments is still very strict anyway. Under the long-term evolution of history, Zheng Yi did not pay attention to the study of metaphysics (Taoist philosophy). Quan Zhen sent Shang Neidan, who ordered double cultivation.

5. Different factions

After the Yuan Dynasty, there was no great division and change in the Orthodox Church, and he lived in the ancestral court in Shi Tian, Longhu (now the ancestral court was temporarily moved to Tainan). Quanzhen School has been divided into many schools, large and small, among which Longmen School is the largest and most mainstream.
