The world's first roller! Razer Basilis Snake V3 mouse
Hello, I'm Waveguide Terminator.

The function of mouse wheel is an important part of improving work efficiency for users who work in office, especially those who code words, type codes and process forms. As for the pursuit of the wheel function, I first used the 4D+ of Shuangfeiyan, and now it's hard to find even pictures online. At that time, in the era of basic three keys and one wheel, there were two wheels with a thumb side key, which was amazing. Later, from G9X to G604, we used Logitech unimpeded roller, which is familiar to everyone, only to find that the metal roller would rust. I have replaced G502 with a new one, and G604 has been stuck frequently recently. I've been waiting for the competitor of the roller to appear, and now it's finally here Let's invite Razer Basilis V3!

Recently, Razer's new product line has all been rolled out in 3-speed mode, starting from ordinary models, with some unique functions in the middle end (such as the super battery life of Viper V2X and Kraken tentacles of deep V3 extrasensory version) and high-end wireless models. However, this new Barcelona … Sebastian … er, the Basilis snake V3 is unique, and I am very much looking forward to its wireless model.

If nothing else, according to the data, this HyperScroll smart wheel prepared for it can not only switch between zoom and accessibility (Razer officially calls it tactile scrolling and free scrolling), but also has the function of scrolling left and right. Moreover, I heard that this wheel can be switched intelligently and automatically when the rolling speed is accelerated. I can't believe it. I must try it myself.

Take out the mouse and look at the contents. Wired mouse is very simple, a manual and a sticker. Although the manual introduces wheel switching, I think it will be clearer if it is driven.

Although Razer Basilis V3 is also ergonomically designed for the right hand, the curvature of the back of the mouse is not so obviously inclined.

In addition to the two wide buttons on the left, there is also a trigger button, which should be familiar to FPS users, especially those who often use sniper. In addition, the bottom of the injection-molded rubber skirt has an extension for placing the thumb.

The right side is also the same side skirt, and the area is equally wide, so that friends who are used to the 122 grip can easily place their ring fingers and little fingers.

However, from the front, the height difference between the left and right keys is quite obvious. Many mice are of this design. In addition, the mouse itself is relatively large, and the wheel function is strong. In fact, it is more suitable for the grip of 13 1

There are two buttons behind the wheel, one is to switch the wheel mode, and the other is to switch the DPI. Of course, any button can be redistributed at will in the driver. It can also be seen from here that the mode switching of Razer's wheel is not based on hardware, and I don't know what black technology is used specifically. Logitech's wheels are all hardware switches, that is, the physical components are stuck, so its on-off key cannot redistribute functions.

Even a configuration switch key and a small light are given at the bottom. Yes, there are more and more mice stored on board, and Razer Basilis V3 also has 4+ 1 hybrid onboard and cloud storage. This key can also set any function. For this extra thumb placement area of the left skirt, a wide foot patch is also given, which moves very smoothly.

How can a wired mouse have no lights? In addition to the LOGO light at the tail and a circle around the wheel hub, Razer Basilis V3 has a circle of lights on the chassis side, 1 1 light area,16.8 million full-color RGB.

Of course, there are four-way rollers that I care about most. As for the experience of free scrolling, I came on the computer.

As for the wire, it is made of repeatable silicone wire, very soft braided wire and consistent green USB head.

The colors and effects of the wheel light, LOGO light and the 1 1 light area below can be set independently. Friends who have played a lot of lights should be familiar.

The next step is to look at the driver function. I'm here to get the roller! As you can see, there is a separate wheel module in the driver page. * * * here has three functions:

1. Intelligent scrolling. If on, the scrolling mode is invalid, but it will be automatically switched according to the scrolling speed. Usually, light rolling is tactile mode, and it will automatically become free mode when you press it hard.

2. Scroll mode. When smart scrolling is not turned on, you can switch between two modes freely.

3. Rolling acceleration. Is to further enlarge the rolling distance.

First of all, its mode switching should be what the electromagnetic part is doing, not a separate physical lock, because when switching, you can hear the sound of "seng" inside the mouse, and any button can be set to mode switching. If there is a dismantling boss, it would be nice to discuss the principle.

In smart mode, it's no different from the ordinary wheel with a flick or two. If you dial hard, the minimum force to start automatic switching to free mode is almost 3 seconds. And if you roll hard, you can roll for almost 8 seconds.

Because the strength of manpower is definitely uneven, I made a rough statistics for reference only. By default, the system scrolls three lines at a time. In EXCEL, you can scroll down about 1300 lines in three seconds and 4400 lines in eight seconds. After the accelerated scrolling is started, lines 1500 and 5300 can be reached. However, this value is also unstable, just an average value taken after many tests.

Another point is that scrolling left and right needs the support of the software itself. For example, I don't support it in the old version of Office2007, and the latest Microsoft 365 (formerly Office365) perfectly supports it.

Speaking of the contrast with Logitech's infinite scrolling, I personally prefer Razer. Intelligent scrolling mode is very easy to use, and there is no need to switch back and forth, not to mention stability and longevity. Logitech's metal drum is cool when it is brand new and rustless, with heavy weight and lower damping. You can roll for ten or twenty seconds with a hard push, which is called a decompression artifact. However, after starting to rust, the hand feel is getting worse and worse. Now I can only roll G604 1 to 2 seconds. The online boss said that there was no other way except to change the roll manually. Razer is destined to avoid this situation in terms of material and realization principle.

After being refreshed by the roller, other things turned out to be just icing on the cake. Even if Razer Basilis V3 uses focus+sensor, 26000DPI, and supports the separation of X axis and Y axis, I have no feeling.

As a wired mouse, I don't know why the default brightness is only 70, but also provide the option of turning off the lights or when to turn off the display according to the idle time. Is it in response to power saving? As for the lighting effect, 1 1 The rainbow flow in the lighting area is my romance, and monochrome breathing is not a waste.

In addition, the mouse pad surface calibration is also available, but I don't have a Razer pad for the time being. Surprisingly, this mouse is also equipped with asymmetric stop technology. According to the official introduction, it is "in order to avoid the line of sight jitter caused by the rapid decline of the tail, a certain height is reserved for the lifting mouse." Lifting working height:1~ 3 mm; Putting down the settable working height: 1~2mm "is simply a boon for FPS players.

Although the soul has been completely hooked by the wheel, it is still a game mouse. Try CSGO. This trigger button is really useful when opening the mirror, and DPI can be lowered instantly for fine adjustment. When I aimed at the door, the brother showed a little sharpness. If I hadn't turned on the sniper mode, I would have shot at the same place, either in the leg or touching, but after pressing the trigger button, the DPI was reduced to a very small size, so I swung a short distance to the left, just through the door.

Generally speaking, Razer Basilis V3 has lived up to my high expectations, and the roller is the best in the world! I hope other manufacturers will quickly follow up and pack up, and we players also hope to have more games to choose from. If you have any regrets ... I want the wireless version! Come on, research and development ~

Thank you for watching. If you like it, please pay attention and like it. See you next time.
