It is the first map in China showing the land and sea territory of China in a panoramic way, showing the South China Sea islands and the mainland at the same scale for the first time, providing more intuitive and powerful evidence for safeguarding China's maritime rights and interests.
In the new edition of 20 13 "The Whole Map of China People * * * and the Country", the illustration of "South China Sea Islands", which was previously placed as a thumbnail in the lower right corner of the horizontal map of China, has been fully displayed this time. It connects the islands in the South China Sea with the mainland. On the map, we can clearly see the main islands and reefs of the South China Sea islands, as well as the geographical relationship with the surrounding island countries and islands and reefs.
In the original horizontal map, the South China Sea Islands in the lower right corner are only illustrations, which are only 1/2 of the main map scale. Only large islands and reefs such as dongsha islands, Xisha Islands, zhongsha islands, Nansha Islands, Yongxing Island, Huangyan Island and Zengmu shoal can be marked, and a large number of islands and reefs are ignored. In the vertical map launched this time, the scales of the South China Sea Islands and the mainland are the same.
There is also an enlarged illustration of Diaoyu Island in the lower left corner of the new Map of China People and the Country, which shows in detail the positional relationship between Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands, Chinese mainland and Taiwan Province Island.
