If the damage is small (just a crack), you can use transparent tape or medical tape (wrapped twice). If the damage is serious (the copper wire inside has been exposed), then you need electrical insulation tape, which is sold in general hardware stores. There are many colors, any color is ok, just pack it two or three times.
