I have always felt that this sentence tells us that education should start from an early age, and we should pay special attention to the education of children aged 0 to 6 or even 0 to 3, and we should not ignore it just because children are young. If understood from this perspective, this sentence is not worth criticizing: children's education should start from the day they are born. How can a word set off a huge wave? The key point is that we have different understandings of the sentence "Don't let children lose at the starting line" and the two key words "lose" and "starting line". Only by knowing what is the "starting line" for children's growth, what is "losing" and what is "winning" can we be less anxious and more rational about children's education.
It should be pointed out that the sample of this survey is a group of parents who are very concerned about family education and especially love learning, and it does not represent the overall situation of parents in China. However, we can see that there are still quite different views on the above four issues. Among them, the most fundamental thing is what kind of people we want to cultivate our children and how we recognize their growth. Different cognition of these problems will lead to great differences in parents' educational behavior after the birth of their children. A parent who regards the growth of a child as a competition will fall into anxiety from the birth of the child and blindly let the child learn this and that.
