It should be noted that which lines will be implemented at that time will be subject to the urban rail transit construction plan officially submitted for approval.

Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Transportation issued "Implementation Opinions on Implementing the Outline of Building a Powerful Transport Country" (hereinafter referred to as "Implementation Opinions"), which defined the phased goals of Guangzhou's transportation development from 2035 to 2050. Guangzhou will build a world-class railway hub and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area railway transportation center. The high-speed rail will reach the Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration in 4-6 hours, and the provincial-level city 1- 1.5 hours, and the high-speed rail will enter the central city.

Intercity railway and subway are integrated, and the subway will directly connect Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Qingyuan and other cities.
