Dianchi Lake was called Nanze in ancient times, also known as Kunming Lake. Dianchi Lake, located at the foot of Xishan Mountain, is about 5 kilometers away from the urban area, with its northern end close to Daguan Park, and Yunnan Ethnic Village faces Xishan Park across the sea. More than 20 rivers, such as Panlongjiang River, flow into Dianchi Lake, and the lake flows out to the sea in the west, and enters Jinsha River through Pudu River. Shaped like a crescent moon with a wide lake surface, it is called "Five Hundred Li Dianchi Lake" and is the sixth largest inland freshwater lake in China.
Dianchi Lake has Jinma Mountain in the east, Bijia Mountain in the west, Snake Mountain in the north and Heshan Mountain in the south. These rolling mountains form the natural barrier of Kunming bazi. The lakeside land is fertile, the climate is mild and the water resources are abundant, which is beneficial to irrigation and shipping. Kunming bazi is rich in rice, wheat, broad beans, corn, oil and other crops, and is a famous "land of plenty" in Yunnan.
Dianchi Lake is a plateau limestone rift lake affected by the crustal movement of tertiary Himalayan mountains. There are dozens of peaks around Dianchi Lake, surrounded by water and clouds, which form a beautiful natural picture. Standing on the Longmen, commanding, Dianchi Lake has a panoramic view. Dianchi Lake has a vast water surface, which is not only a good place for tourism, but also has economic values such as shipping, fishery, irrigation and water supply.
