Emerald is not green in the sun. Why?
Jade is not green in the sun because the polished surface of jade reflects strong light under strong light, which leads to the color of jade becoming pale and visually not green. This is a normal optical phenomenon, and jadeite with the following characteristics is more prone to this phenomenon:

First, the jade itself is light green, and the green mineral ions are more concentrated in the jade, which is more green when viewed through light, and the surface of the jade is slightly white when looked up;

Secondly, the permeability of jadeite is not high, and the water head is below waxy seeds, which is more prone to bean seed head.

This is also the reason why flash is usually not recommended for jade photography. Under the flash, the surface of jadeite is strongly reflective, and the color of jadeite is often white, similar to the effect of overexposure.

Emerald of other colors will change slightly with the color in weak light under strong light. The most classic is violet. Many jadeites have a faint violet color in weak light, but in strong light, only white is left, which is commonly known in the industry as "death."

Therefore, the color of jadeite has not changed in essence, which is only a human visual error, and the color of jadeite that people usually describe is the color that looks directly under natural light.
