Although this classic two-in-one design has been used for many years, it has to be said that Microsoft is still ahead in design. Even now, it is still full of sense of technology and fashion. The bright platinum color and elegant black color scheme of Surface Pro 7 are very advanced, and there are no other redundant colors and design elements. Simple and generous fashion perception is pleasing to the eye. From the author's subjective point of view, this design is really good.

In terms of the size of the fuselage, the single weight of the Surface Pro 7 we got is 790g, which is difficult to use with one hand, but it is much easier to use with both hands as a tablet.
Considering heat dissipation, performance and hardware stack, as a tablet computer, Surface Pro 7 is excellent in balance of configuration, weight and design. In addition, it should be added that this USB Type-C supports PD fast charging. The 65W Lenovo lipstick power supply used by the author can realize fast charging, and also supports PD mobile power supply, which means that you don't need to bring Microsoft Surface Connect charger when you go out with Surface Pro 7.
Unfortunately, this USB Type-C interface does not support Thunderbolt 3, and the transmission rate may not be as fast as extreme. However, it is lucky to have USB Type-C. Wake up, this is Microsoft!
On the back of the tablet, there is also a MicroSDXC socket, through which you can easily expand the storage of Surface Pro 7. At present, the price of a 128GB SD card is around 100 yuan, so it is quite cost-effective to store data and videos on weekdays. Of course, supporting SD card expansion is also a fine tradition of Microsoft Surface, so I won't introduce it much.
In enhanced mode, the screen display quality is good, but the big black border makes people crazy.
In terms of design, Surface Pro 7 also has some places for the author to vomit, such as the big black box that has remained unchanged for thousands of years. Although some people will say that after all, Surface Pro 7 is a flat shape, and the big black box in your hand can avoid accidental contact to a certain extent, you should know that the fruit house next door is also a flat iPad Pro, and the screen ratio has increased a lot. Compared with the previous generation, the screen of Surface Pro 7 has not changed, and the parameters are the same as those of Surface Pro 7, including 12.3 inches, with 267ppi per inch of pixels. The overall display quality is high, and ordinary users have enough daily office use.
In the display settings of the system, Surface Pro 7 provides sRGB and enhanced display mode. By naked eye comparison, the color saturation of the enhanced mode is obviously higher and the colors are richer, while the sRGB display mode is slightly shallower.
Traditionally, IT House tested the screen of Surface Pro 7 through Spyder 5 Elite, including two important parameters: color gamut and color standard.
1. Enhanced mode:
The screen of Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is 98% sRGB and AdobeRGB is 76%. In terms of color scale, the average E of Surface Pro 7 is only 1.8 1, and the lowest E is only 0.86, which is quite good.

In this mode, the screen of Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is 96% sRGB and AdobeRGB is 73%. On the color scale, the performance of Surface Pro 7 is a bit unexpected, with an average E of 3.98. Obviously, if you are a graphic worker, it is more suitable to use the enhanced display mode, or calibrate the screen through the instrument before use.

Overall, the screen performance of Surface Pro 7 is not bad, but it may not be particularly prominent in similar products. On the other hand, it may be a media machine. Of course, if you want to speed up the productivity of Surface Pro 7, it depends on whether you are willing to spend a lot of money to buy these excellent surface peripheral accessories. After all, the price of any accessories is hundreds of thousands.
However, I strongly suggest that since you have chosen to buy Surface Pro 7, if there is no professional demand, the Surface Arc mouse and stylus can be ignored, but you need to add 1K to buy an original Type Cover professional keyboard cover. On the one hand, the original keyboard of Surface Pro feels particularly good, on the other hand, it also takes into account the role of screen cover and keyboard.
The keyboard of Surface 7 is thin and light, and has the feel of a traditional mechanical keyboard. Although the keystroke is short, the feedback is compact and powerful, and the typing is very refreshing when pressed.
Compared with ThinkPad and little red dot keyboard, Surface Pro 7 feels harder and more brittle. In the form of notebook, because the center of gravity of Surface Pro 7 is on the screen, there are occasional top-heavy problems, especially when the notebook is used on the legs. The bracket on the back of the tablet computer supports the author's knees and legs, the center of gravity is behind, and the bottom of the keyboard is hollow. Therefore, when you hit the keyboard, it will occasionally be unstable, and the tablet feels easy to fall off, so you need to be extra careful when using it.
Of course, this is compared with ordinary notebooks. The most powerful design of Surface Pro 7 lies in the universality of application scenarios. You can take out its magnetic keyboard and use it as a tablet. You can also turn the keyboard to the back of the fuselage, and even use its external display as an ultra-portable mobile host.
Part II: Performance evaluation.
In the first half of this year, Intel released the Ice Lake Processor, which adopted a brand-new 10nm process. Microsoft Surface Pro 7 followed Intel's rhythm and upgraded to the tenth generation Core processor. There are three versions of 10th generation Intel Core i3- 1005G 1, 10th generation Intel Core i5- 1035G4 and 10th generation Intel Core i7- 1065G7 processors. IT House got the version of i7- 1065G7.

1.CPU-Z test:
IT House tested the running score of i7- 1065G7 on Surface Pro 7 through CPU-Z, in which the score of Surface Pro 7 is 493 for single core and 24 1 1 for multi-core, which is better than i7-8565U for 15W, and it is not a problem to deal with mainstream office and entertainment applications.

In the past, the nuclear display performance of Surface Pro was too weak to cope with mainstream games. How about the upgraded i7- 1065G7? Compared with CPU performance, the biggest upgrade of i7- 1065G7 is nuclear display. Its built-in Iris Plus graphic core displays 64 EU units and 5 12 ALU units, which is 2.5 times that of i7-8565U. 6. Game test
In terms of games, we tested the performance of League of Legends with 3K image quality and 1080P image quality, and chose 5V5 team battle as the game scene.
As can be seen from the frame rate chart above, in the 5V5 team battle, the default resolution can basically stabilize Surface Pro 7 at about 50 frames. Then IT house adjusted the resolution to 1080P, and the frame rate of the game was basically stable at more than 60 frames. This performance is no less than MX 150 # 039. This is a unique and relaxed book.
After all, this is a tablet computer. The heat dissipation performance of Surface Pro 7 can only be said to be quite satisfactory. When the game in high performance mode is turned on for a long time, there is a very serious burning phenomenon on the back of the fuselage, and the CPU that is overheated for a long time will of course reduce the frequency. Obviously, Surface Pro 7 is not suitable for long-term games, but the fan sound will not be too loud during high-performance operation.
The configuration and size of tablet computers have always been incompatible with each other. If you want high performance, you must prepare thick. If you want a slim figure, you obviously can't achieve the ultimate performance and heat dissipation. So the productivity direction is what tablets are best at.
7. Hard disk storage test
The 256GB Surface Pro 7 we got used SK Hynix's SSD. According to the testing tool CrystalDiskMark, the continuous reading and writing speed of SequentialQ32T 1 is 2042.4MB/s and 828.9 MB/s respectively. The random reading and writing speeds of 4KiBQ8T8 are 527.7MB/s and 468.5MB/s respectively.
Judging from the above results, the hard disk reading speed of Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is still good, which can fully meet almost all daily use and work scenarios.

Compared with the previous generation, Surface Pro 7 has a regret to say-saving electricity. According to the official statement, the battery life of Surface Pro 7 is estimated to be 10 hour, which is 3 hours less than that of the previous generation Surface Pro 6. In fact, in foreign media reports, many overseas users have complained that the endurance performance of Surface Pro 7 is not better than that of Surface Pro 6.
However, in the author's actual experience, the endurance performance of Surface Pro 7 is basically satisfactory. Two hours of web pages and graphics live conference, power consumption is about 40%. From this point of view, Surface Pro 7 can basically meet the office needs of users for about 6-8 hours.
