Who's Yu Shuyan?
It should be Yu Shuyan, the master of Peking Opera!

Yu Shuyan (1890- 1943), a famous chess player, was born in Luotian, Hubei. Sun of Yu Sansheng, son of Yu Ziyun. As a teenager, he performed "Catch and Release Cao" and other plays in Tianjin under the stage name of "Xiao". After returning to Beijing due to illness, with the help of his father-in-law, he studied with money and martial arts, and Yao Zenglu gave him the Kunqu Opera Shi Xiu Tanzhuang. At the same time, he also learned Tan Pai's singing method from Aisingiorro Pudong (owner of Red Bean Restaurant). Later, he joined the "Chunyang Friendship Association" and studied under Fan, Shi and Tie. After worshipping as a teacher, Tan gave him acting skills in Taiping Bridge, Shi Jingsi and Lost Street Pavilion, Wang Ping. Whenever Tan performs, he will go to the theater to watch. He humbly consulted all the drummers, pianists, musicians and walkers who worked with Tan, and his skills improved greatly. 19 16 After the sound is restored, join Mei Lanfang's class club and perform again.

After Tan Yu 19 17 died, he began to choose classes on his own, and performed such plays as Beating the Stick Out of the Box, Striving for Peace, An Empty City Plan, Notes on Wu, Seeing off the Sons in Mulberry Garden and Drumming Cao, which infiltrated the essence and charm of Tan School and gradually formed his own artistic style.

His singing method pays attention to the pronunciation and rhyme, and embellishes the cavity with "falling tone". His voice is slightly sandy, with a combination of rigidity and softness, mellow charm and far-reaching artistic conception. The aria in the plays, such as Seeking Loneliness, Fighting Fancheng, Fishbone Sword, Hongyang Cave, Julien Village, Beating My Nephew's Grave, Shaqiao Farewell, Fighting for Peace, and Empty City Plan, are all regarded as long-standing classics. The scaffolding, knife flowers in Dingjun Mountain and playing mahjong in Selling Horses as firewood are all examples of post-scholars. I sent disciples such as Tan, Wang Shaolou, Xiaodong Meng and Li, and my wife and younger brother also learned from him. After Tan School, Yu School has a far-reaching influence in the history of Peking Opera.
