Western feminism developed with the feminist movement and the socialist movement. After two climaxes in 1930s, 1960s and 1970s, western feminism developed into a theoretical system combined with socialism, namely feminist socialism. Fundamentally speaking, China's feminism is a foreign culture, or a culture developed on the basis of western feminist socialism theory. Female scholars in China prefer to call this foreign culture "women's liberation" or "women's liberation" rather than "feminism". This kind of appellation is not only the change of appellation, but also the change of internal thought. In the final analysis, this change is caused by the internal differences of national culture. Since women's liberation in China is the result of the influence of western feminism, the two are * * *, I don't deny it. However, the significant difference between them should cause us to reflect on this culture, which is not only conducive to the real liberation of women in China, but also conducive to the stable development of society. First, the historical background of feminist movement is different. Western feminism gradually grew up with the social revolution, and experienced the first climax, the low tide and the second climax, in which its social ideological trend was formed. The first climax of the movement was from the middle of19th century to the end of 1920s. At this time, the western world created favorable conditions for the vigorous rise of the feminist movement. First of all, in terms of culture, influenced by the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, some ideas of "equality and freedom" were put forward. At the same time, women's issues attracted much attention, which created an ideological foundation for the rise of the feminist movement. Secondly, in the economic aspect, the arrival of the industrial revolution has prospered the economy and society, and the demand for social labor resources has also extended to the female field, causing new female problems and creating material conditions for the rise of the feminist movement. Finally, in politics, calling for democratic politics and opposing feudal rule and religious oppression made the political order of feudal society precarious, which created a relaxed political atmosphere for the rise of feminist movement. Comparatively speaking, the rise of the women's liberation movement in China was at the beginning of the 20th century, which coincided with social unrest, and political, economic and cultural aspects were not conducive to the further development of the women's liberation movement. Women's liberation in China is accompanied by the national liberation movement against imperialism, feudalism and bureaucracy. The Revolution of 1911, the May 4th New Culture Movement and the New Democracy all fought for some rights for women in China to varying degrees. However, these women's liberation movements have never been independent. They are only an integral part of social movements, and women are not an end in themselves. Women's liberation is only a sign, a sign of striving for social progress and an anti-feudal means. Armed with the idea advocated by men, women measure their existence with men's eyes and their liberation with men's scales, without seriously reflecting on themselves. The historical background of Chinese and western feminist movements determines their differences. Women's liberation in China is only the initial stage of the feminist movement. With the continuous development of western economy, feminism has gradually matured. However, the ups and downs in the early days of the founding of New China did not pay enough attention to the deeper liberation of women. Second, different stages of feminist development In the 1920s and 1930s, women in western countries basically gained equal political rights, but they were still unequal to men in social life and people's ideas. Feminists began to realize that there was a problem of gender relationship and gender power, so the feminist movement became an analysis of why men and women are unequal and the power structure between men and women, emphasizing gender analysis. Through the study of the development history of western feminism, we can know that the development of western feminism can be divided into three stages: the first generation feminism, modern feminism and post-modern feminism. Western feminists no longer only pay attention to women's situation, women's power, women's safety and women's creativity, but explore the root of women's problems through superficial women's problems. China's feminism refers to a kind of female thought, social speech and political auxiliary behavior that women strive for equality with men and embody women's self-spirit and energy. By definition, Chinese feminism's research on women's issues still stays on women's self-reflection, and the root of a series of problems, such as saving women's education, women's employment and re-employment, sexual harassment, domestic violence, etc., lies in not winning the right of actual equality with men. Focus on solving the real female problems caused by social life. Because our country is deeply influenced by feudal culture, many backward areas still fundamentally deny women's social status and their legitimate rights and interests. To fundamentally solve the female problem, it is necessary to improve the quality of the whole nation and popularize cultural knowledge. In China, women's issues will be a long-term and intractable social problem. Western feminism has formed a relatively complete knowledge system, while China still stays in the primary stage of feminism, that is, the stage of fighting for women's liberation.
