1, "Little Orange Lantern" tells the story of the author visiting friends in the suburbs of Chongqing decades ago. While my friend was away, the author met a little girl while waiting for her friend. The little girl's mother was ill, so the author called a doctor for her.

Then the author went to the little girl's house and bought some red oranges. The little girl's mother has fallen asleep, and the little girl is sensible enough to say that the doctor will come back tomorrow, and sweet potato porridge is their New Year's Eve.

There are only two people in the family, the little girl and her mother. The author is leaving. The little girl made an orange lamp for the author to encourage her to be all right in the future!

4. It reflects 1945 the difficult situation of revolutionaries under the rule of imperialism and Kuomintang reactionaries and their desire for light, and praises their strong, calm, brave and optimistic spirit.
