Xi 'an Metro is an urban rail transit system serving Xi 'an, Shaanxi Province, China. Its first line was put into trial operation on September 20 1 1 and 16, making Xi the first city in northwest China to open a subway.
By September 2020, there will be five subway lines in Xi 'an, namely 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4 and Airport Intercity Line, all of which adopt the subway system, with an operating mileage of 16 1.46 km. * * * Station 107, including 7 transfer stations.
The beginning of Xi subway can be traced back to the 1970s.
At that time, Xi municipal government planned to follow the example of Beijing subway, demolish the wall of Xi 'an, and build Xi 'an subway 1 line by using the trench left by the wall ruins. Later, it gave up with the progress of urban development concept and cultural relics protection concept.
