After reading The Shape of Time, look at the theory of relativity when you are upset. This is a popular science book of physics and a brief history of physics. I like pure reason and pure sensibility, and think they are essentially the same. Pure is a beautiful quality, whether it becomes a poem or a physical equation in the end, they are not affected by those messy things, transparent and shiny.
The first few pages were a little flashy for fun, but soon, when it came to the point, the attractive flashy disappeared. The author explained the evolution of physics with a very popular story. One question after another, the light flashed again and again, and the excitement and ecstasy of discovering the laws of the world again and again. Galileo, Newton, Einstein and other magical physicists appeared, which pushed our understanding of the world further.
Physics is essentially related to astronomy. As the main body of understanding and exploring the world, the earth is too small and unconvincing, and it must see the whole solar system, galaxy and even the whole universe.
Like Fermat's last theorem, there are brain burns that can be controlled by high school knowledge. A link was deducted, a problem was solved, and a defect appeared. The next problem is raised, solved, and then defects appear. When I arrived in Einstein, I was involuntarily excited and even trembled. Relativity completely subverts my view of the world and time and space. I imagine the universe, traveling at the speed of light in the vast universe, swinging with gravitational waves. Time, space and universe are different. Close the book and look around. It is new. Those trifles seem so trivial.
After reading The Shape of Time, the second Kelvin confidently announced that the building of science had been built. This great and arrogant scientist appeared mediocre and incompetent in prediction, so that later scientific discoveries constantly challenged his famous words and succeeded without exception. From the Michael Sun-Morey experiment, which runs counter to the etheric theory, to the Planck blackbody radiation, which can only be explained by constructing a world unimaginable to our predecessors. Humans have personally destroyed the seemingly seamless science building built by "God's Creationism" again and again.
In the era of idealism, when people find that everything created by God is so bizarre, they can only silently accept that they are just the product of God, a gambler, when he rolls the dice.
If we say that in the long river of history, only time can make people feel infinite. If there is anything so fascinating in the torrent of time, it is only the essence of time. In the eyes of early scientists, time is not limited to anything and is not interfered by anything. We have no ability to let it flow slowly around us, let alone stop it and invite it to stop and watch the splendid and fragile civilization of mankind.
But humans are brave. For hundreds of years, there have been many "brave people" speculating and experimenting, trying to figure out what time is. The book The Shape of Time has been published since Galileo's time, which leads us to explore its secrets with the pace of time. If you want to know the secret of time, you have to mention another close partner-light.
Galileo, who dared to question Aristotle, took the lead in issuing the challenge. He tried to measure the speed of light, but unfortunately, he failed, but he also inspired generations of scientists.
Seventy years later, a Danish astronomer bravely stood up and measured the speed of light with his extremely clever method. Centuries have passed, during which physicists have not stopped exploring. It was not until modern times that physicists measured the most accurate values.
Speaking of light and time, Einstein, a famous scientist in the scientific field, and his book "The Theory of Relativity of the Giant of Science" redefined light and time with their unique thinking experiments. In the book The Shape of Time, he was portrayed as a hero who was born, but he shocked the world as soon as he made a move. This book vividly describes the theory of relativity. There is no dizzy formula derivation in it, but it simply proves to us that it describes the book of relativity that changes our lives.
Newton once said, "I thought I was like a child playing by the sea." From time to time, I will smugly find a pebble or shell that is more beautiful than usual, but I have not found the vast ocean of truth in front of me. " After reading this book, I feel very small in front of the ocean of truth. The world is beautiful. We are a group of children who have not set out to explore the world. We should sincerely explore this wonderful and mysterious world.
After reading The Shape of Time 3, I read a book in recent days and felt deeply. This book is called the shape of time. Mainly talking about Einstein's theory of relativity.
The story of me and this book will start from last Thursday.
That night, I stayed in the dormitory and suddenly wanted to make a phone call. There were a lot of people calling, so I wandered around Mr. Hu's dormitory and suddenly found this book, The Shape of Time. I sneaked a look at it when no one was looking, and it seemed not bad. So, after the phone call, I borrowed this book from Mr. Hu and returned it to Mr. Hu on Sunday evening.
I think the growth brought by this book has two aspects.
First of all, this book changed my understanding of the world. The language of this book is easy to understand, which makes it easier for me to read. This book brought me from Galileo's world to Einstein's world step by step and expanded some other knowledge. After reading this book, I have probably understood some contents of the theory of relativity.
The second is that this book has brought me some other inspirations. I feel surprised after reading this book, mainly because of the time it took to finish reading this book. I thought my reading speed was slow, but I finished reading this book on Saturday night, which was far from my original plan-at least half of it was read this weekend. Before that, I read a very interesting book, which usually takes a week. Although the main reason is that there is plenty of time on Friday and Saturday, this book has refreshed my understanding of myself. I also got a way to read: make sure you understand every sentence before you look down. When reading this book, I have a great understanding of this sentence, because reading this book requires me to keep thinking. If I don't know anything, I probably don't know anything behind. This method can be used in some books with great context. But it will take more time, but I didn't do well enough when I read this book, so that I don't understand many problems and concepts in this book, but it doesn't rule out the reason why there is too little background knowledge.
There are two sequels to the story of reading this book.
The first one: I was very excited about this book during the days when I was reading it, so I told some people around me about it, and some people were very interested. Not long after I returned the book to Mr. Hu, it was borrowed again. I am glad to spread this knowledge.
Second: After reading this book, I became interested in the physics mentioned in the book, so on Sunday morning, I found a copy of A Brief History of Time by Stephen King Hawking in the corner of the classroom. A brief look at the catalogue shows that this book is about cosmology, which contains not only macroscopic relativity but also microscopic quantum mechanics. Later, I found that this book is more professional and looks laborious, but I intend to finish it.
The above is my main experience and some truth in reading The Shape of Time. I'm glad I found a door to a new world. I also hope that I can finish reading A Brief History of Time and get greater growth.
I will dare to try and get in touch with something new that interests me. Maybe I will set foot on the new continent and broaden my horizons.
