Guiyang No.1 Middle School is the first demonstration high school and super-large boarding high school in Guizhou Province. Its predecessor was Li Duanfen, Ren Kecheng and other famous Guizhou people, and it was founded in 1906. 1950 merged with four schools, including Guiyang Middle School, and was called Guiyang No.1 Middle School. The school is famous for its first-class facilities, strict management, gathering of famous teachers, high quality education and talented people. Tens of thousands of outstanding graduates, represented by Zhou Yiqun, an outstanding proletarian revolutionary, Le, Xiong Yi, Xiao Xuchang and Shen Dezhong, academicians of China Academy of Social Sciences, Xia Pingchou, a permanent magnet expert, and Xie, a literary celebrity, moved to Jinyang New District in 2005, and the overall relocation was completed in 2007.
