The original site of Yangzhou Jian Zhen Library is located in Shugang Scenic Area in the northwest of Yangzhou, about 200 meters north of daming temple, a famous scenic spot in Yangzhou. Daming temple was founded in the second year of Emperor Xiaowu of Song Dynasty (457-464), more than 0/500 years ago. Daming temple, which integrates Buddhist temples, cultural relics and scenic spots, ranks first among the eight famous temples in Yangzhou, and is the place where Jian Zhen, a famous monk in the Tang Dynasty, became a monk and was ordained. He was presided over by daming temple, and then went to Japan to preach French. In order to carry forward the traditional culture of China and cultivate talents for Buddhist research and management, Foguangshan, the largest Buddhist organization in Taiwan Province Province, invested and donated money to build Jian Zhen University on the main axis of the University Hall. It is also the only Buddhist university in Chinese mainland.
As an important part of Jian Zhen University, Jian Zhen Library, with its architectural style full of tang style, shows the design concept of a world-class library. Covering an area of 65,438+000 mu and a building area of about 65,438+0.6 thousand square meters, this large quadrangular library emphasizes the symmetrical spatial layout of the central axis and dignified and simple architectural modeling, which is full of Zen and makes people feel independent and unconventional. At present, there are many precious books, including Sikuquanshu and more than 20 versions of Tripitaka.
