Brief Introduction of Central South University Library
Central South University Library is mainly located in the new campus library, distributed in five campuses. The existing building area is 70,000 square meters, with 12 business departments and more than 5,500 reading seats. The weekly opening hours are 70-65,438+005 hours. By the end of 20 10, there were 4.2 million kinds of paper documents, 40,000 kinds of e-books and 25,000 kinds of electronic periodicals. There are more than 1,000 local area network computers in the whole library, and the bandwidth to the desktop reaches100 m. The digital library is rich in resources and has distinctive features, providing network information services 24 hours a day. 1 The whole library adopts computer integrated management system (ILAS and Missy, Sulke). Modern information technology is widely used in business work and internal management, and computer automation management is fully realized. Each campus is interconnected by Gigabit network, and can be connected with China Education and Research Network (CERNET) and the Internet through campus network. Each campus has a multifunctional electronic reading room with more than 450 microcomputers. The library has more than 900 switch ports, nearly 1000 local area network computers, and the bandwidth to the desktop reaches100 m. It has the basic functions of an information consulting service center, and has established close ties with major retrieval institutions at home and abroad, and can provide various types of information consulting services such as science and technology, medical novelty retrieval, paper consultation, interlibrary loan and document delivery. Since 2002, branches of the Business School of Central South University and other colleges have been built one after another and connected with the school library to provide services for readers on a unified platform. In September, 2003, because of its rich experience, strong strength and outstanding achievements, it was appraised by the expert group of the Ministry of Education and became one of the first comprehensive sci-tech novelty retrieval workstations of the Ministry of Education. 12011On June 30th, the new library of Central South University was opened for trial.
