Historical Development of Chenghai Overseas Chinese Middle School
Chenghai Overseas Chinese Middle School was founded in 1957.

1September, 958, 200 freshmen from No.1 junior high school entered school.

1968 merged into "Yan 'an Middle School" and died, and the school building was occupied by the factory.

Huaqiao Middle School starts in September, 1979.

Since then, Xie Yichu, Li, Xu Chaozhen and Zhang Rangbin 120 overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao have successively donated HK$ 4.543 million and RMB100000 (* * equivalent to RMB 3.98 million),1April 1985 and1988.

Chenghai Huaqiao Middle School has 2 teaching buildings, 2 teachers' dormitories, 2 students' dormitories, Science and Technology Museum 1, Auditorium 1, Siyuan Library, school gate and other supporting facilities, with a total construction area of 13429 square meters (statistics 1989).

The school is located in Houkeng Garden, Dongshan Road, Chengcheng Town (now Fengxiang Street) (Yingpu outside the East Gate), covering an area of 33,000 square meters.

1985 has 22 classes with 1277 senior and junior high school students, about two thirds of whom are children of overseas Chinese.

1986 12 12 Shantou Education Bureau approved this school as Chenghai Deputy Middle School (now a key middle school).

/kloc-0 was named "Guangdong Traditional Sports (Basketball) School" by the Provincial Sports Commission and the Education Department in June, 1997; 1999 10 was awarded "Shantou Green School" by Shantou Education Bureau and Environmental Protection Bureau; In 2000, 1 1 was determined by Chenghai Education Bureau as "National Experimental City of Art Education in Rural Schools".

The school layout planning has been basically realized, and it is moving towards a garden-style school.

In recent years, 103 students have been admitted to physical education colleges, 3 13 students have been admitted to art colleges, and 123 students have been admitted to music colleges.

The number of students admitted to the general college entrance examination has increased significantly.

In 200 1, 436 students were enrolled, an increase of 62% compared with 2000 (269 students were enrolled), and an increase of 10.2 times compared with 1987 (39 students were enrolled) when overseas Chinese resumed school and new school buildings were built.

From 198 1 to 200 1, the number of applicants for the general college entrance examination for overseas Chinese in the city was 2072.
