1. National University of Defense Technology, referred to as National University of Defense Technology for short, is a comprehensive national key university directly under People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Central Military Commission, covering ten disciplines including science, engineering, military science, management, economics, philosophy, literature, education, law and history. It is one of the first batch of national key construction institutions in "2 1 1 Project", "985 Project" and "211Project", and has been selected into "201Plan" and "Excellent Engineer Education and Training".

The school was formerly known as Military Engineering College, and 1953 was founded in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, referred to as "Harbin Military Industry". Since its establishment in the early 1950s, this school has been an important institution of the state and the army. The school is one of the key construction projects in the First Five-Year Plan 156, one of the 20 key universities in China identified by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China 1959, one of the first batch of universities in the State Council approved to award master's and doctor's degrees, one of the first batch of 22 pilot graduate schools in China, and one of the key universities invested by the state during the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan. 1970 The school moved south to Changsha, renamed Changsha Institute of Technology, and 1978 was transformed into National University of Defense Technology.

By May of 20 14, there were more than 4,000 students in the school, including 8,400 undergraduates and 5,600 postgraduates.

2. Changsha Aviation Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1973 and upgraded to a full-time higher vocational college with the approval of the former State Education Commission in 1998. The College is affiliated to the Air Force Equipment Department, and the Military Academy is named "China People's Liberation Army Air Force Aviation Maintenance Technology College", which is the only national education college in the whole army.

The campus covers an area of more than 800 mu, with a construction area of more than 300,000 square meters, total assets of 389 million yuan, teaching instruments and equipment worth 68.8 million yuan, and a collection of 628,000 books. There are two campuses and an education and training center.

As of May, 20 18, the college has two campuses, namely vault and Guitang, and a cave training center, covering an area of 800 mu, with fixed assets of 474 million yuan, total value of teaching instruments and equipment of1500,000 yuan, over 9 100 students and 75 1 staff.
