According to incomplete statistics, at present, there are more than one million pieces of China cultural relics in more than 2,000 museums in 47 countries in the world, most of which were looted in wartime. Some collectors in Beijing said that when they visited abroad, they saw countless China cultural relics, many of which came from Yuanmingyuan.
Located in Fontainebleau Palace, 70 kilometers southeast of Paris, France, there is a "China Palace", and all the exhibits in it are from Yuanmingyuan. On the roof of the largest exhibition room in the palace, there are three giant detailed and colorful Buddha statues, and the appreciation seal of Qianlong is clearly visible. On the front of the hall is a screen inlaid with jewels and palace hills, and on the left are two large treasure chests. Through the glass, you can see carved cultural relics such as coral, Tian Huangshi and white jade.
There is a city in western Norway called Borgen, where there is an applied art museum, and there are thousands of China cultural relics in an exhibition hall. Only one person donated these cultural relics. 1987 came to China, worked in China Customs, and later served as the cavalry chief and chief of staff of Yuan Shikai. Muntz lived in China for more than 50 years. More than 2,500 China cultural relics have been collected. The most unusual thing in this collection is the stone carving of Yuanmingyuan. In the entire exhibition hall on the first floor, almost all the stone components of Yuanmingyuan are beautifully carved. There are broken columns, railings, watchtowers and stone statues. On the wall of the hall, there is also a copper engraving of Haiyan Hall in Yuanmingyuan printed with white cloth. You can recognize some stone carvings from above. This exhibition hall is named "Yuanmingyuan Exhibition Hall"
Some famous museums and libraries in Europe also collect the cultural relics of Yuanmingyuan. The panorama of Yuanmingyuan is now kept in the Paris Museum. The original painting "Forty Scenes of Yuanmingyuan" was painted by court painters Shen Yuan and Tang Dai in Qing Dynasty, and is now in the National Library of Paris. The British Library has a part of the Atlas of Sikuquanshu originally stored in the Wen Yuan Pavilion of Yuanmingyuan, as well as many porcelain, gold and jade articles of Yuanmingyuan.
