Dewey is an educator who advocates that education means growth, education and life. Dewey opposes the traditional education which is centered on subject teaching materials and divorced from real life. It advocates students to learn in real life, and puts forward that education is life education, and growth education is social process education and experience transformation. School is a society, learning by doing. Melvildewey (1851-1931), an American librarian, stayed as a librarian after graduating from Amherst College.
