The three schools that make up the National Southwest Associated University decided to demobilize and return to the north, while the Teachers College stayed in Kunming to continue its education. On May 4th 1946, National Southwest Associated University held a graduation ceremony in the library of the new teaching building. After that, the students took trucks, crossed the mountains in Guizhou and entered Hunan, and took the river from Changsha to Hankou and Nanjing. After each group of students transferred to Shanghai, they went straight to Tianjin by sea boat and finally returned to Peiping.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the teachers and students of National Southwest Associated University returned to Pingjin one after another, and some school buildings were placed under Kunming Normal University.
