In order to solve the problems that have restricted Nankai University for many years, such as backward hardware facilities and insufficient development space, and to meet the requirements of the development and opening up of Binhai New Area, Tianjin has chosen a new campus for Nankai in the overall planning of Haihe Education Park. There are about 46 single buildings in Jinnan Campus. Except for the library, which is a landmark building with a height of about 48 meters, the elevation of other buildings is no more than 24 meters. Without the "cement forest", teachers and students can better experience the feeling of garden campus here.

After the opening of Jinnan Campus, emerging disciplines, interdisciplinary disciplines and some applied disciplines will usher in new development in the new campus. More than 3,000 students and 2,000 faculty members from 14 Professional College will start their new study, work and life here. Both new campuses will have the discipline ecology and cultural atmosphere of comprehensive research universities.
