How to guide children's leisure extracurricular reading
"Double reduction" reduces the burden of children's homework and the burden of off-campus training. Children do have time to study. However, children are children after all, and they still need help reading extracurricular books. This is why we put forward the concept of "leisure extracurricular reading", hoping that children can study at leisure under the background of "double reduction". How to "guide" children to study at leisure?

First, choose your own bibliography and read freely. I think this is very important. We should completely open the library and teach children to borrow books independently. According to my current estimation, there are really not many schools where children can borrow books independently. Chinese teachers in many schools go to the library to borrow books in the whole class, which makes children lose the ability to borrow books independently. The biggest advantage of cultivating children to borrow books independently is that they can focus on cultivating children's lifelong habits. In middle school, university and social work, he always wants to go to the library and borrow books independently. Schools need to teach children how to find their favorite books quickly, or go to the library to find the books they need for a certain purpose.

Secondly, form an atmosphere of exchanging reading experience. Reading by yourself, if there is some reflection, can improve the level of reading, that is, can continuously improve their moral cultivation and writing level. But if the school can design the children's reading experience exchange meeting as a whole, the children will automatically improve their reading level and improve their literacy brought by reading in a pleasant way. Schools can not only carry out class reading meetings, but also carry out reading exchanges between classes, which can stimulate children's interest in communication, broaden their horizons and, of course, carry out reading exchanges between grades. What are we talking about? You can have a good book recommendation exchange, and of course you can read a book in two classes to exchange arguments about the content of the book. Of course, it is also good to have a book and drama performance competition, and there are really many ways and contents.

Third, we can consider teaching middle and senior students to make reading plans. Personally, I have a certain reading plan, such as linguistics, philosophy, education, sociology and so on. Studying according to the plan is sometimes a spur to yourself. The plan is like a booster, let me read it one by one, and by the end of the year, I will feel my soul is complete. I feel that at least this year has not been wasted in reading. Letting middle and senior children make reading plans is actually a means for children to learn to reflect on themselves. Before making a reading plan, children will definitely think about what they lack and what aspects of literacy they need to improve. Making a reading plan will not increase the burden on children. On the contrary, children will "follow the map" with their reading plans, thus making their reading relatively easy.

At present, a lot of extracurricular reading can't make children develop the habit of reading, mainly because it is too utilitarian. Either let children write compositions to read, or link extracurricular reading with exams, or some schools adopt operational (behaviorism) practices such as "token" system. Finally, once children leave school, the desire to read disappears.
